On October 16, 2024, Congressman Bobby Scott delivered $4,000,000 in federal community project funding to the #USACE for the deepening of the Elizabeth River and its Southern Branch. With support from Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, this funding, secured through the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act, marks a significant step forward in enhancing the Port of Virginia’s capacity and efficiency. The project will deepen the waterway, allowing vessels to fully load and navigate the waterway, ultimately benefiting businesses in Hampton Roads and boosting #EconomicGrowth in the region. This achievement demonstrates the power of #partnership between federal, state, and local entities, as well as the vital role of public #infrastructure investments in strengthening communities. Hear from Congressman Bobby Scott, the US Army Corps of Engineers, The Port of Virginia, and the Virginia Maritime Association as they highlight the significance of this project for the region. #engineering
