The momentum at #USSteel’s Big River Steel Works keep on growing! That progress took center stage when Arkansas Money and Politics recently featured U. S. Steel SVP and Big River COO Daniel Brown in its “2025 AMP C-Suite” series. Dan discussed investment and innovation at the facility, as well as developing the next generation of leadership to vault BRS and U. S. Steel to new heights. At #USSteel, we are delighted to see our team members' expertise and leadership recognized. Recently, Megan Roby, Senior Corporate Counsel at U. S. Steel, was invited to serve as a guest lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Megan spoke to students in the "Information Privacy: Law and Practice" course, where she shared insights on landmark privacy laws, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California’s Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Drawing from her experience as in-house counsel, Megan provided a practical perspective on not only understanding these laws but also implementing them effectively in a corporate setting. She also offered valuable insights on cybersecurity incident response strategies and best practices. We are thrilled to see Megan recognized as a subject matter expert in this evolving field and to have her represent U. S. Steel by helping shape the next generation of legal professionals. Congratulations, Megan, on this well-deserved opportunity!

Mark Jeffrey, our Mon Valley Works – Clairton Plant Manager, knows that being an industry leader means more than performance metrics. Under his leadership, the facility has implemented innovative solutions like battery-powered locomotives that reduce emissions equivalent to 7,000 cars annually. "If we want to be that good neighbor, producing the product isn't good enough. It's when we produce a product that is environmentally friendly to our customers, our communities, and our workforce." 🎥 Watch his full story. #ILiveHereToo #Innovation #Sustainability

What does S.T.E.M. and hockey have in common? – they both rely on physics! #USSteel joined the Pittsburgh Penguins and PPG at the fourth-annual Sticks and S.T.E.M. game to engage youth hockey fans in the world of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). This event, among many others are the result of our long-standing partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins. 🏒📚 An All-Star Thank You! 📚🏒 In hockey and education, teamwork makes all the difference! As the first year of the #USSteel & Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation Reading Champions Program in Minnesota nears its final buzzer, we took time to celebrate the real MVPs—the teachers and school administrators at North Star Elementary in the Rock Ridge School District and U. S. Steel Minnesota Ore Operations employees—who are making year #1 such a success. U. S. Steel and the Pens Foundation welcomed a number of these individuals to the March 9 Minnesota Wild game against the Pittsburgh Penguins to recognize and thank them for bringing the program to life. We’re so excited to crown our first Minnesota Reading Champions next month! Stay tuned for that special celly soon. 🏆📖 #ReadingChampions #Education #CommunityImpact

Forging a Future in STEM! 🚀🔬 At #USSteel, we know that strong materials build strong futures—and that includes investing in the next generation of innovators! 💡 We were honored to sponsor Alabama’s annual GEMS (Girls Engaged in Math and Science) Expo, where more than 600 bright young minds explored the endless possibilities of STEM. Our WIN (Women’s Inclusion Network) employee resource group also helped power this incredible event, inspiring girls to dream big and see their potential in STEM careers. A special shoutout to Gitanjali Rao, MIT student and TIME’s 2020 Kid of the Year, for delivering an electrifying keynote! The future of STEM is as strong as steel—and we’re pleased to be a part of it. 🔥💪 #STEMStrong #GEMS2025

🏒📚 What a night for our Reading Champions! At the March 11 Pittsburgh Penguins game, we celebrated the incredible students who participated in this year’s Reading Champions Program, a partnership between #USSteel and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation Special congratulations to Ms. Korenoski's class from Duquesne City School District, winners of this year’s Steel Cup! 🏆 When the final buzzer sounded, students from Duquesne City, Clairton City, Penn Hills, Pittsburgh Public, South Allegheny, West Mifflin, Wilkinsburg, and Woodland Hills School Districts along with Propel Braddock Hills read more than 750,000 minutes this season! Beyond celebrating our champions, U. S. Steel volunteers were on-site sharing how steel is essential to the world around us—just like literacy is essential to success. Thank you to all our students, educators, and volunteers for making this program and evening such a success. Keep turning those pages! 📖🔥 #ReadingChampions #LetsGoPens

The Reading Champions Program built by #USSteel in partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is wrapping up another amazing season, and our young readers have truly gone the distance! Last week, Pittsburgh Penguins mascot Iceburgh stopped by participating schools to hand out prize bags, ticket redemption cards for an upcoming game, and special messages of encouragement from U. S. Steel and Pittsburgh Penguins employees. Much like hockey, reading takes practice, dedication, and perseverance—and these students have shown they have what it takes to succeed and score big! 🏆📚 #ReadingChampions #LetsGoPens
