Health care systems and professionals need to be proactive, empathetic and adopt an informed approach to support victims of domestic violence (DV). This course will highlight the complex interplay of factors that influence these victims’ decisions to disclose their experiences to health care services. This one-hour course includes improved training for health care professionals, better privacy measures and the integration of support services to create a more supportive environment for DV victims to disclose and seek help. Participants will also learn about integrated care approaches that address physical, mental and reproductive health.
