For World Menopause Day, we're celebrating the work of UIC researcher Pauline Maki, PhD, renowned for her contributions to the field of menopause and cognition. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the only major health resource in Chicago's Gage Park-West Elsdon neighborhood closed, leaving tens of thousands of residents without nearby healthcare. UI Health saw the need for help, and they responded by building the 55th & Pulaski Health Collaborative.
