  • On March 6th, the UK-Ukraine TechBridge in partnership with Jacobs and The Bakery, hosted the inaugural UK-Ukraine TechBridge Start-up Competition 💻   After a brilliant day of outstanding pitches and presentations, UK-Ukraine TechBridge was proud to announce the winner of the inaugural Start-up Competition, as voted for by our esteemed tech industry experts, Anton Volovyk, Sue Daley, Francesca Arese Lucini, PhD, Paul Hammond.   The winner of the judges prize was: Beholder 💫   Additionally, an audience of investors and established UK businesses voted on who presented the best pitch on the day and this went to S.Lab   Congratulations also go to Parostock, Mantis Analytics, Eyre and Carbominer Ukraine who beat over 300 applicants to reach the final of the competition 🤝   #UKUkraineTechBridge #UkrainianInnovation #UKUkraineTechBridge #UkrainianStartUps

  • 🚀 The second cohort of startups is joining the UK-Ukraine TechBridge Investment Accelerator! This accelerator will provide participants with valuable opportunities to connect with venture capital funds, master effective fundraising strategies, and prepare for expansion into the UK market. The pilot programme of the Investment Accelerator 2024 featured 20 startups, including Deus Robotics, GIOS, Knopka, Wantent, etc. They were engaged with over 30 industry experts and 15 team mentors, all with successful experience in the UK market. Startups also had the opportunity to pitch at London Tech Week. As for now, the cohort collectively raised over $7.5 million in grants and investments. This year's cohort will be selected based on the following criteria: ✅ Based in or having operational ties to Ukraine ✅Operating in investor-attractive sectors, such as AI, MedTech, Cybersecurity, EdTech, and AgriTech. A second priority will be given to projects in FinTech, GreenTech, GovTech, DeepTech, and Semiconductors ✅ At the late Pre-seed, Seed, or Series A stage, with either a steady annual revenue of at least $100K or rapidly growing monthly recurring revenue ✅ Seeking investment between $500K and $5M with a clear strategy for fund utilization ✅ Targeting a total addressable market of $1B+ or holding a strong position in a niche market Applications are open until March 17. For the first time, Ukrainian startups have direct access to the UK business ecosystem, providing a clear pathway to market entry and growth. The Ukrainian Startup Fund acts as a link between Ukraine's innovative solutions and the opportunities available in the UK, driving the growth of emerging companies and enabling their ideas to gain traction on the global stage.   • The UK-Ukraine TechBridge — One Year of Opportunities 🦾 One year ago, the UK-Ukraine TechBridge initiative was launched, unlocking exciting opportunities for the growth and expansion of Ukrainian tech companies. Here are the key achievements from the first year of the project: ✅ UK-Ukraine Tech Bridge Investment Accelerator Twenty startups participated in this program, gaining valuable knowledge and mentorship on how to enter the UK market, attract investments, and build effective partnerships. ✅ Bootcamp and Investor Showcases Participants completed a 5-day intensive bootcamp in London and showcased their products to investors during London Tech Week, a premier annual tech event attended by over 20,000 people this year. Collectively, these startups secured substantial funding from grants and investments. ✅ Free Training The Ukrainians benefited from free training sessions from leading global companies, including Deloitte, Oracle, Salesforce, Cisco, and Re:Coded. These sessions featured workshops, masterclasses, and courses covering programming, cybersecurity, IT-focused English, creativity, design thinking, personal branding, and career development. ✅ Business Events and New Partnerships A variety of business events, including a cybersecurity roundtable and the UK-Ukraine Tech Forum, were organized. These events facilitated new partnerships, resulting in contracts and investments for participating companies. This success story is a testament to the power of international collaboration.   • Second UK-Ukraine TechBridge Industry Steering Board Meeting The UK-Ukraine TechBridge Industry Steering Board convened in London on 24 October 2024. Co-chaired by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister for Digital Transformation, Alex Bornyakov, and the UK’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Services, Small Business, and Exports, Gareth Thomas MP, the meeting focused on advancing bilateral innovation and recovery efforts. Key topics included the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation’s new strategic objectives and the UK Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine’s recovery. Along with a review of the progress made since the TechBridge launch, the following priorities for the future were highlighted: ✅ Strengthening communication to foster greater commercial engagement. ✅ Incentivising innovation across both markets. ✅ Streamlining priorities for more effective project delivery. The Board will reconvene within the next six months to assess progress and set the direction for upcoming initiatives. We sincerely thank all members for their invaluable contributions and look forward to unveiling exciting new initiatives soon!
