We are excited that the UG 100™ was used in a new Cell manuscript analyzing the genome architecture of a 52,000 year old female woolly mammoth! Congratulations to Erez Lieberman Aiden, Marc A. Marti-Renom, M. Thomas P. Gilbert and their teams across the globe for illuminating the evolution of elephantids - living and extinct. Link to full text: https://lnkd.in/d5jMg39k "We used Ultima sequencing to analyze the 3D architecture of the inactive X chromosome in Asian elephants, observing a remarkable tetradic architecture that closely echoes what we observed in woolly mammoths. We were also able to resolve the specific tandem repeat elements that are responsible, thereby accomplishing all the goals of the experiment.” - Erez Lieberman Aiden, PhD, Professor of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine.

Unleashing the power of genomics at scale
About us
Ultima Genomics is unleashing the power of genomics at scale. Our mission is to continuously drive the scale of genomic information to enable unprecedented advances in biology and improvements in human health. With humanity on the cusp of a biological revolution, there is a virtually endless need for more genomic information to address biology’s complexity and dynamic change—and a further need to challenge conventional next-generation sequencing technologies. Ultima’s revolutionary new sequencing architecture drives down the costs of sequencing to help overcome the tradeoffs that scientists and clinicians are forced to make between the breadth, depth, and frequency with which they use genomic information. The new sequencing architecture was designed to scale far beyond conventional sequencing technologies, lower the cost of genomic information and catalyze the next phase of genomics in the 21st century.

Ultima Genomics reposted this
Gameto CEO and Co-Founder, Dina Radenkovic, spoke yesterday on The Startup Panel at STAT News Breakthrough Summit West in San Francisco. The panel also featured Gilad Almogy, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultima Genomics, Akira Matsuno, President, CFO, and Co-Founder of Tune Therapeutics, and was moderated by Allison DeAngelis, Biotech Startups and VC Reporter at STAT News. The panel was focused on what it is really like to be a startup in 2024, and each founder discussed their experience at the helm of companies developing industry-disrupting technologies, from navigating difficult financial markets to forming motivated and resilient teams. We are especially honored to have been a part of this important conversation with the most interesting new companies, as historically women’s health has been a deprioritized area of the biopharma industry. At Gameto, we are focused on bringing scientific advances like the use of stem cell technology and cell engineering, to women’s health. Our lead program, Fertilo, is a solution derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and designed to mature eggs outside of the body as part of minimal hormonal stimulation cycles for in vitro fertilization and egg freezing. For example, our recent collaboration with REPROCELL involved the licensing of one of the first ever female iPSC lines available off-the-shelf for clinical and commercial grade use that enabled us to bring Fertilo for clinical use and further clinical research. We are thrilled to be able to draw attention to the growing space of women’s health biopharma and new modern treatments that are much needed and hope that the conversation today provokes more of its kind. Thank you to STAT News, Allison Deangelis, and all of the panelists for an enlightening discussion!
