Energy Plant Workers Discover New Benefits – Featured on Channel 6 in Paducah, KY! We’re proud to share that the Benefits Resource Fair, hosted by our sister company Brightmore on September 6, 2024, was the lead story on Channel 6 in Paducah, KY! The event highlighted the $1.59 billion in compensation and medical benefits already distributed to workers exposed to radiation and toxic chemicals in the Paducah area through the Department of Labor's EEOICPA program. Last week, we hosted an inspiring event in Lee's Summit, MO, for past and present DOE and Honeywell Kansas City Plant workers and contractors. Our guest speakers, Jason Jones, a renowned EEOICPA Claim Advocate who has helped over 10,000 claimants, and Denise Brock, NIOSH Ombudsman, shared crucial information on EEOICPA benefits. Denise shared her personal story of seeking compensation for her mother after her father, who worked at Mallinckrodt, died from various cancers. Her journey turned her into a dedicated advocate, tirelessly working to make the compensation claims process easier for many workers and their families. Derris Moore, from UEW, shared his experience of visiting our patients around the country, highlighting the personal connections and support provided by our team. Lesley Gatewood, LBSW, our local UEW Kansas City benefit advisor, warmly welcomed everyone and facilitated the event. A highlight of the event was the moving story shared by James and Cynthia Cravens. James, a former electrician at the Kansas City Plant and an EEOICPA beneficiary, spoke about his journey and the benefits he has received. His wife, Cynthia, shared her experience as his paid family caregiver through the program. Their story provided a powerful testament to the impact of EEOICPA benefits on their lives and underscored the importance of the program. Thanks to everyone who attended and made this event special. Here are some highlights from the day. #DOEWorkers #HoneywellKansasCity #EEOICPA #UnitedEnergyWorkersHealthcare
