As part of our Early Years programme, apprentices complete a project in supporting the development of core skills in early years settings. This provides a great opportunity for staff to not only develop their knowledge but also gain experience in lesson planning and delivery. Thinking about hiring an apprentice? Your school could get £1,000 to support them during their apprenticeship! The payment comes in two instalments: £500 after 90 days and another £500 after a year and can be used for anything that helps your apprentice, like salary, travel, or equipment. Plus, if your school doesn’t pay the apprenticeship levy, the government covers 95% of training costs, a great way to bring in fresh talent or upskill staff without breaking the budget 💸 Find out more: https://ow.ly/H9ZU50VlzjS #Apprenticeships #Funding

Melissa began her Early Years apprenticeship in 2023 🌱 Her volunteer work at a local primary school inspired her to revisit her childhood dream of working in Early Years. "As a busy mum, the thought of starting a new career was quite daunting, but for me the course has been perfect, it gives me the right work-life balance and I have adapted to balance studying with the rest of my busy life." "My confidence has grown alongside my knowledge, and I have to thank my mentor, Clare, as well as my tutor Sarah for that. "I have been given so many amazing opportunities to put to the test what I have been learning on my apprenticeship. I've led whole classes and have even put together my own lessons linked to my assignments. My parental engagement assignment saw me giving a presentation to 43 parents." Melissa is now pediatric first aid trained and leads her own phonics sessions. "I look forward to furthering my development and helping children grow in confidence as an Early Years practitioner."
