Today, we had a crew of volunteers hard at work at Women & Family Life Center in Guilford! Folks from the YMCA Soundview, the Town of Guilford, including First Selectman Matt Hoey, and community members came together and cleaned up the center’s outdoor area. Folks worked hard to bag leaves, spread mulch, and weed out beds in order to make the center an even more beautiful space for the families accessing its services.

Around this time each year, we share with our supporters the story of United Way so they know how their commitment makes an impact. Some of our volunteers, partners, staff members and even the families that have met their goals with us are featured. All of us, together, are helping to lead the way towards a thriving community. 🫶 #leadingtheway

2 events, 1 morning, a ton of fun! Today, we had the pleasure of coordinating two volunteer events in New Haven! Volunteers from Dimeo Construction Company got their hands dirty at Gather New Haven’s Ward Street Farm and helped to harvest fruits and veggies, pull weeds, and spread mulch. For the second event, we put together literacy kits with the support of Yale University Finance! Kits included bilingual copies of “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do you See?”, along with engaging activities to help bring the story to life!
