🤩 Happy customers make all this effort worthwhile. Read more about how Statsig transformed its ticketing initiative using Unthread and Scout. Excellent read, Matt Garnes! "We started leveraging Unthread to catalog each of our support requests and allow us all to find, assign, and reply. Furthermore, we have an internal tool that categorizes each request based on the text content and makes a (usually right) guess as to which team should react! From there, anybody within the team that was pinged can pick up a question, ask for help, or assign it to someone they are confident knows best! Using these tools, we're able to answer hundreds of questions a week, allowing all of our customers to talk directly to someone who works on the feature they're asking about, rather than spending days in a support queue for a dedicated team to try to answer." https://lnkd.in/gCHzA7k7
The best customer support happens when you connect directly with the people building the product. However, scaling support as a startup is no easy task. Our #support channel in the Slack Community now has over 5,000 members, yet our engineers still promptly answer hundreds of questions each week 💬 Software Engineer Matt Garnes shares the tools we use: Scout and Unthread and the processes that help us scale support and delight our community ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gt7Dm-zf

One of the biggest differentiators in a successful startup team is the diversity in the experiences of the team. NYC uniquely draws people from all backgrounds, industries, and cultures. When building your team in the city, you tap into various experiences and life stories. Engineers often reflect a wide range of personal experiences, interests, and cultural exposures they bring to their work. The multi-disciplinary backgrounds directly contribute to your product. But that’s not all. They also shape how your team grows together. Learning from each member builds a bond that forms the company’s character. A well-built company character is the first step to ownership and winning. Our roadmap meetings at Unthread can get intense. Everyone brings something new to the table, and each person’s perspective comes from a wealth of experience across industries and cultures. Only in NYC can you find this level of diverse top-tier talent anywhere in the world. Next week, we’ll dive deeper into how NYC plays a part in our customer stories.

What's the secret to cutting ticket resolution times in half? Hint: It's not working harder—it's integrating smarter. If you've ever experienced the frustration of trying to resolve customer issues while coordinating with development teams, you know how challenging it can be to keep everyone on the same page. Miscommunication and lack of visibility can lead to delays and inefficiencies in the ticket resolution process. Unthread's task manager integrations seamlessly connect with popular tools like Asana, Trello, and Jira, enabling better communication and collaboration between customer support and development teams. Learn how these integrations can help you increase visibility, prioritize issues, and resolve customer concerns more efficiently. Startups are notorious for moving fast and breaking things, and this is the only way they can survive. But you can’t crash. So, what’s the difference between breaking things and crashing? If you’re working with an enterprise customer in one team, your goal is to get to the next. And the next, and the next, and the next. Your product crashing means you risk losing those future deals and even the current ones. When your product is working, customers tolerate and even expect things to break, and that’s ok. When working with enterprises, there are some serious pitfalls that can crash your product. The first that comes to mind is Security. Working with top-tier enterprises across industries means your security is top of the line. Of course you’ll want SOC2 and GDPR compliance. But more than that, you must have proper authorization, ACL, and 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲, not an afterthought. Leaking customer data or leaving data unencrypted will crash your product and lose trust in an unsalvageable way. With the biggest enterprises in the world headquartered in NYC, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝘁 Unthread 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲. Next week, we’ll discuss how NYC’s diverse talent pool helps founders build winning products and teams. 7th 🗓️ https://lnkd.in/e7zSKhv8 https://lnkd.in/egwQtZmM

Woah! Such a fun time chatting with the LeanScale team about everything from Slack-based support to the future of LLMs to the creation of NYT crossword puzzles. We talk through best practices on engaging with customers in Slack in a way that's scalable and personalized. We go through common pitfalls and how to avoid them. We also talk about what the future of knowledge management looks like in a world of AI. Can't thank and recommend Anthony Enrico and his team enough for putting this together to share! I’ve been selling SaaS in NYC for a decade, and I know things are going well when I hear: “I love that you guys are based in New York, we’d love to host you at our office.” We don’t live in the metaverse (thankfully), which means real relationships are built in real life. There’s only one place where you can meet with executives in Finance, Fashion, Media, Tech, and Healthcare in one place, and that’s NYC. When it comes to longer sales journeys, the decision-making process goes beyond just having a great product. Buying decisions are made by people, and meeting face-to-face increases interpersonal trust by up to 60%. It also doesn’t hurt that New Yorkers in particular have a soft spot for other New Yorkers. The opportunities Unthread finds as a startup in NYC are the kind of opportunities that can’t be bought. Your buyers are already drowning in Zoom calls and looking for something different. This is why “selling where your customers eat” works so well. Being the magnet for executives and decision-makers across all industries, NYC is a must if you’re building for enterprises. Every enterprise you want to sell has a major presence or HQ here, and you should too. Next week, we’ll dive into the “move fast, break things—but don’t crash” mindset, and how startups can better position themselves to these types of buyers. 30th 🗓

Not so unpopular opinion: If you’re building B2B SaaS, NYC is the place to be. New York City is "the capital of the world" for good reason: • 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: "Move fast and break things" but don’t crash — you’re selling to big players who demand perfection • 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁: The most diverse talent pool in the country • 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: A hub for industry executives from tech, finance, art, music, fashion Bay Area influencers try to market the Valley as the place to build, but it’s time to challenge this ideology. We’ll call the series 𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙔𝘾’𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙥 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢, and every Monday, we’ll explore why building in “the city” has been great for Unthread. First story drops on the 23rd. 🌆 🎫
