We are thrilled to celebrate Alberto M., who has been part of Uplift Education since 6th grade, on his incredible achievement as a QuestBridge Scholar Match! This life-changing opportunity is paving the way for Alberto to attend a top-ranked college, Haverford College in Pennsylvania, where he’ll pursue a degree in Biology with dreams of becoming a forensic scientist. Alberto credits his success to the writing skills he gained in his Uplift classes and the guidance from his counselors, who supported him through the application process. “They kept me on track and made sure I had all the documents I needed,” he shared. 🔧🔢Exploring the World of Engineering! 🔢🔧 Our Uplift Ascend scholars had an incredible opportunity to visit KFM Engineering & Design and gain an exclusive glimpse into the diverse and exciting fields of engineering. By engaging with professionals such as a Principal Vice President, Senior Project Manager, Military Engineer, GIS Mapping Specialist, Land Planner and more, scholars gained an in-depth understanding of the diverse career paths available in engineering. Scholars even had the opportunity to examine real engineering plans and visit a worksite to see a completed project firsthand. It was an eye-opening experience that helped them dive deeper into the possibilities within the engineering world and explore potential futures in this dynamic field. A huge thank-you to KFM Engineering for hosting our scholars and inspiring them with your knowledge and expertise. Recognizing Our Social & Behavioral Counselors During National School Counseling Week! At Uplift Education, our 49 Social & Behavioral Counselors (including 2 network counselors) play an essential role in scholar success, providing individual & group counseling, crisis services, and ongoing support to ensure our students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. This school year alone, our counselors have provided: 💬 17,422 counseling sessions = 10,000+ hours of direct scholar support 👩🎓 3,586 scholars served—approximately 1 in 6 students across our network Their dedication to mental health and well-being is shaping futures every day. 🎓✨ Career Day at Uplift Hampton! ✨🎓 Scholars had an amazing opportunity to hear from our very own board member, Ms. Montoya, Director of Education at Southern Dallas Thrives, United Way Dallas. She shared her inspiring college journey and career experience, providing valuable insight into how education can open doors to incredible opportunities. In an interactive session, scholars explored the world of grants—learning how they are written, approved, and the impact they have on communities. It was a powerful hands-on experience that brought career exploration to life! A huge thank-you to Ms. Montoya for dedicating her time and expertise to mentor and inspire our future leaders. We are thrilled to announce the success of our first-ever Uplift Cup Mock Trial Tournament, hosted this past week at our Central Management Office. This event showed the incredible talent, preparation, and passion of our scholars from Uplift Elevate, Uplift Grand, Uplift Hampton, Uplift Infinity, and Uplift North Hills. What started three years ago as a single team at Uplift North Hills has now grown into a robust program with five competitive teams, thanks to the vision and guidance of James M. Stanton, former State Judge and Uplift board member. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding this opportunity for our scholars. A special congratulations to Uplift North Hills team 2 for winning the inaugural Uplift Cup! 🏆 Their teamwork, preparation, and determination set a high bar for future tournaments.
