The Upper Mississippi Waterway Association (UMWA) is an organization comprised of waterway operators, shippers and other waterway interests working together to promote the importance of water transportation in the upper Midwest region. Its mission is to advocate for the continued development, maintenance and utilization of the Upper Mississippi River navigation system.
