I'm incredibly honored to receive the United Way of Greenville County's "Most Engaged Corporate Leader" Award. Giving back to our community is something I'm truly passionate about. That is something I have in common with United Community-- we believe that investing in the well-being of others is key to creating a thriving and resilient community. I'm grateful to work alongside so many amazing individuals willing to give back! Every act of service, no matter how big or small, can make a difference. I hope our collective impact makes a lasting difference in the lives of our neighbors. #UnitedWay #GivingBack #CommunityImpact

  • United Way of Greenville County joined hundreds of nonprofit leaders from across the state in Columbia last week at the Together SC Summit. In collaboration with Trident United Way, Director of Policy and Advocacy Emilee O'Brien presented a workshop on Data Informed Advocacy. The Summit concluded with a formal Senate floor recognition by our own Greenville Senator, Jason Elliott. Thank you, Senator Elliott, for your support of our sector! United Way and our partners have key data and stories to add to advocacy efforts at the state level. Interested in joining us? • 🚨 The state legislative session is in full swing, and United Way of Greenville County is closely monitoring key bills that could impact childcare access and affordability in our community. Here are two critical policies we're focused on: Senate Bill 47: This bill provides a tax incentive to employers who offer childcare to their employees, while also increasing income tax credits for childcare workers. This is a vital step in addressing workforce shortages and making childcare more accessible. Budget Request for BOOST Wage Supplements: The Governor has requested $20 million from the General Assembly to continue the BOOST wage supplements program. This funding would support childcare workers across the state, boosting retention and stability in childcare centers—critical for families and providers alike. Our Director of Policy and Advocacy, Emilee O'Brien, M.A. Ed, testified last week before the Senate Finance Subcommittee, lending her voice in strong support of S. 47. This bill is a comprehensive approach to strengthening workforce opportunities and improving childcare sector stability, all while addressing affordability and access for families. We’re proud to stand with advocates from education, nonprofit, and business sectors to make sure these bills move forward. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e-cjxpkE
