ULI Austin is pleased to announce that Sinclair Black, FAIA, Principal at Black + Motal Architecture & Urban Design (Formerly Black + Vernooy), has been named the recipient of its prestigious annual Vision Award. Black, an influential urban designer, architect, author, and professor at the University of Texas, has shaped Austin's architecture and urban design over five decades. Black has endeavored throughout his career to facilitate consensus on a wide range of matters affecting the built environment, been a strong advocate of “smart growth,” and has taught generations of students the expansive potential of urban design to affect broad, lasting change in cities’ economic health, quality of life, and sustainability. The ULI Austin Vision Award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in his or her lifetime within the Austin region.
