  • It's #WorkforceWednesday!🧑💼 💼 Each week, we will be highlighting a member of Team Meade that makes our base a great place for service members and civilians. Meet Elena Goldsborough, MILCON Programming and Execution Branch Chief as well as Master Planning and GIS Branch Chief for U.S. Army Garrison Fort George G. Meade. Goldsborough's mentor recruited her for the Master Planning Branch Chief position after three years with the U.S. Navy as a community planner. When she saw the potential for a dynamic role, she applied. Her Environmental Studies degree led Goldsborough to community planning, where she can create human environments that coexist with the natural world. She believes that humans have the right to a suitable habitat, and she is passionate about making that happen. In her role, Goldsborough leads the installation's Geographical Information Systems and Master Planning Teams. She provides Fort Meade leadership with guidance on changes to the built environment, such as new facilities and road modifications. Her days typically involve coordination meetings and site visits to ensure successful project planning. Her favorite part of the job is using her broad range of knowledge to serve others effectively. Outside of work, Goldsborough enjoys creative arts and spending time with her family, including her cats. She is currently pursuing her third degree in Interior Architecture and Design. • The US Army has implemented enhanced security measures at all military installations, including here at Fort Meade. In accordance with these measures, Fort Meade policy memorandum #10, Installation Access Control, has been updated; it can be viewed here: http://spr.ly/6049acJgz. Policy updates include: ➡️ Temporary suspension of the “Trusted Traveler Program” ➡️ Detailed policy information regarding delivery services and ride-share apps such as Uber, Lyft, Doordash, etc. ➡️ Updated information regarding Foreign National Access to the installation ➡️ Pass/badge requirements for visitors, non-DOD ID card holders, and residents Effective immediately, every adult in the vehicle will be required to provide identification to gain access to the base. Those who require a visitor pass/badge will need to go through the Visitor Control Center or an access control point visitor lane. From 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, the ACP visitor lane is located at Rockenbach gate. After 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends, the ACP visitor lane is located at Mapes/175 gate. All currently issued unexpired visitor passes/badges are valid and may be used to gain access to the installation. Commuters should allow for extra time when accessing the installation, especially during high-traffic times. As always, our community’s safety is a shared responsibility. Report suspicious activity to the Directorate of Emergency Services Non-Emergency Line at 301-677-6622. For more details about the updated installation access control policy, check out this morning's edition of #MeadeWeek at http://spr.ly/6043acJgc.
