  • Yesterday, Fort George G. Meade leadership team, Col. Yolanda Gore, Commander, and Command Sergeant Major, Richard Moore met with members of Anne Arundel County Council, Council Member Julie Hummer, Vice Chairman (District 4) and Councilman Peter Smith (District 1). Team Meade was thrilled to meet, introduce themselves, and be welcomed by the council members. Everyone left the meeting feeling energized about community engagement, infrastructure around the Fort Meade community, and support to the military, Meade cluster schools, and Severn Center family and community. 📸 Monique McFadden

  • The use of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) stations located on Fort Meade for personally owned electric or hybrid vehicles (POEV) is prohibited. The EVSE stations are strictly for the use of Government-owned electric vehicles. 🚫 Starting Nov. 1, Fort Meade will begin strict enforcement of this policy restricting the use of EVSE stations to government-owned vehicles only. There are no authorized government-funded charging stations for POEVs anywhere on post. Military Police and DA Civilian Police will begin regular patrols to ensure compliance. 📲 To report unauthorized charging, contact Fort Meade Police at 301-677-6622 or visit 6619 Mapes Road. • Today is #WorkforceWednesday! Each week, we will be highlighting a member of Team Meade that makes our base a great place for service members and civilians. Meet Reuben Druckrey, a Strategic Planning Specialist with U.S. Army Garrison Fort George G. Meade. When looking for a job, Druckrey wanted to be somewhere not only to challenge himself, but also somewhere where he could service his community and nation. In his role with the Plans, Assessments and Integration Office, he looks at data from across the garrison to find ways to make programs excel to their full potential. He also teaches others how to view their own data to maximize their programs as well. Druckrey's favorite part of the job is collaborating with all members of Team Meade. With programs ranging from Human Resources to Public Works, he gets to interact with a variety of people at the garrison. Outside of work, Druckrey spends his time studying and attending classes for his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He also likes to cook and watch Survivor with his wife and dog. Interested in working at Fort Meade? • In October, we want to take a moment to recognize and raise awareness for #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth. This is a time to reflect on the impact of domestic violence in our communities and to support those who have been affected. Domestic violence is a pervasive issue that affects individuals regardless of age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status. It encompasses physical, emotional, and psychological abuse, often leaving deep scars that are not visible to the outside world. It’s crucial to understand that it can happen to anyone, and it is never the victim's fault. #DYK that: - Nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. - Domestic violence costs the U.S. economy $8.3 billion annually in health care services, police protection, and lost productivity. How You Can Help: 1. Educate Yourself: Understanding the signs of domestic violence is the first step in helping those in need. Look for red flags like isolation, fearfulness, and unexplained injuries. 2. Support Victims: If you know someone who may be experiencing domestic violence, listen without judgment and offer your support. Encourage them to seek help. 3. Get Involved: Join us for our upcoming events throughout October to raise awareness and support survivors. Check our website for details on workshops, rallies, and information sessions. 4. Spread the Word: Share information about domestic violence on social media or through community discussions to help raise awareness and reduce stigma. Resources Available: If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please call 911. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is here to help. To contact the FAP or a Victim Advocate please call the helpline at 240-688-6918 or the FAP office at 301-677-4118. Celena Flowers, Family Advocacy Program Supervisory Social Worker, Cherod Jones, Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate, Valinda Thomason, Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate. National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233). Together, we can create a community where everyone feels safe and supported. Let’s stand up against domestic violence and work toward a future free from abuse.
