I'm excited to welcome Richard Lee as our first Growth Marketer! The persona we were looking for was an "engine builder". Someone that could independently, and end-to-end: 1. Setup demand gen experiments 2. Be very data-driven 3. Configure data warehouses and BI tools 4. Enjoy creatively playing with tools like Salesforce, Clay When he came into the office I immediately sensed a fit. When we walked by the board game area, he mentioned his favorite board game was "Terraforming Mars". Nothing could've shouted "engine builder"-persona more than that. His peers described him as someone extremely technical and self-sufficient, and someone they had actively tried to hire again. He'll be working directly with me and our Founding AE Sergio to build pipeline. -- Special shoutout to Paraform for helping us make this hire really fast. I had a first call w/ Richard on a Monday and gave him an offer on a Friday. The whole process once we setup Paraform took only a couple weeks to make the hire 🎉 -- And we're still hiring! Welcome to the new Pylon office. We started the company in Advith Chelikani and Robert Eng's apartment. I spent the first 3 weeks on an air mattress in their living room. After we finished YC and raised a Seed round, we moved into a loft across from Oracle Park. We lived there and the team worked out of there. Advith and I slept in the conference rooms, Robert slept on a mattress on the floor in the main area. It was awesome. But after a year we were growing out of it. Our founding AE was taking calls 3 ft away from Advith's bed. ... When we first saw the listing for our new office we thought we'd check it out just for fun. It wasn't a serious consideration. It's a whole building (!), fits 100 people (!), and required a multi-year agreement (!). But we couldn't get it out of our heads. The team was SO excited about it: - 13,000 sqft - logo on the building - next to the Caltrain - great event/conference space - place to host customers - it's the iconic previous UserTesting building So we negotiated hard... And pulled the trigger ✅ ... It was the right decision. The energy is incredible. People are bringing their friends over to play board games. The team is self-hosting pizza nights. We've co-hosted 3 events with other companies already. And everyday people are messaging us about the logo on the building. ... We're Pylon. The next generation customer support platform, optimized for B2B. And we're growing the team 50% next month, ALL IN-PERSON (open roles in comments). 🚀 Join us, we're hiring! 🚀
