When asked about Kwajalein Atoll during his posture hearing, USSPACECOM Commander Gen. Stephen Whiting said, "Kwaj is very important for our space mission...there's five sensors there that support our mission. We have advocated with the Department of the Army (US Army) for investments there to make sure that the infrastructure can support those missions." 👇
“RTS plays such a critical role in our nation’s security. Whether it’s testing or space domain awareness, Kwajalein’s key terrain will continue to provide enhanced capabilities to U.S. Space Command and the United States Space Force.” ~LTG Sean Gainey, #ArmySMDC CG https://lnkd.in/eNPmXN2H U.S. Army Pacific

U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in collaboration with U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and US Army TRADOC released an updated iteration of the Army Space Training Strategy, which accounts for tech improvements, increased space capabilities and new space-based formations. “We've seen in Ukraine and we've seen globally with China, North Korea, and other adversaries, they seek to defeat our ability to use space. And so gone are the days of setting that theater with air power and air defense artillery alone to gain air superiority that then would facilitate land and maritime superiority,” said Col. Donald Brooks, Army Space and Missile Defense School commandant. “I would say today and in the future, far left of launch, we must shape that multidomain environment with effects layered at scale, range and echelon with space." 👉 https://lnkd.in/gnkt2sj5

Thinh Huynh, #USSPACECOM’s outgoing Commandant, accepted responsibility as Command Sergeant Major of U.S. Army DEVCOM in a Change of Responsibility ceremony at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The time-honored tradition of the passing of the unit colors represents the trust and confidence the commander now places in Huynh to be the troop rallying point in battle and in garrison. "Sgt. Maj. Huynh's imprint on USSPACECOM has been impressive and the impact will be immeasurable," said Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader. "He has an incredible individual story, and now he is forever a part of ours. Sgt. Maj. Huynh's legacy left on our command will be one of competence, collective strength, compassion, credibility, and competitiveness to win.” Huynh's new role and responsibilities guiding the development of groundbreaking technologies like all-domain sensing, air and missile defense, and hypersonic weapons, strengthens the strategic partnership between USSPACECOM and DEVCOM. "Space was great...but I'm happy to be back on Earth," said Huynh with a smile. "The future of space power relies on collaboration and innovation. I'm excited to develop technologies that give our warfighters the decisive edge." Thank you, Sgt. Maj. Huynh. From the ultimate high ground to the last tactical mile!
