To honor The Cockrell Foundation’s extraordinary legacy, the UT Tower will be lit burnt orange and display a 100 on one side on Tuesday, March 25, serving as a beacon of gratitude for a family whose unwavering commitment has shaped the lives of thousands. Over the last 50 years, The Cockrell Foundation’s giving has surpassed $100 million, valued at $250 million, which leaves an indelible mark on UT Austin. More than 4,000 students have been awarded scholarships and fellowships, empowering them to pursue their dreams. The foundation has also established over50 faculty chairs and 64 permanent endowments spanning six colleges, schools and units, ensuring that the impact of their generosity extends far beyond a single generation. Long before philanthropy in higher education became widespread, the Cockrell family recognized the importance of giving back. They were pioneers, setting a standard of generosity that continues to inspire. Today, as we celebrate 50 years of their impact, we do so with profound gratitude, honoring a family whose vision and generosity have built a brighter future for Longhorns past, present and future. 🤘🧡 #WhatStartsHere Cockrell School of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gwkKxj5J
