Thanks to everyone’s support, 🚁 the book accomplished something quite rare in the publishing Industry… After its debut as the #1 non-fiction and top 10 book overall across all media and channels, 🚁 was still the #11 overall book in America in week number 2. Keep spreading the word and more importantly please continue to read and share. We’ve tapped into something intuitively true for so many in a time of great uncertainty. Fly free. the red helicopter

Good morning beautiful friends. I am so happy to let you know that I am now represented by United Talent Agency as an inspirational public speaker. It makes me so excited that I will get to communicate to larger audiences the power of us all, humans, which is the force behind AI and everything else that benefits our kind. Inventions are parallel to the needs of our time. The fact that we are dealing with AI, it means we are ready to adopt a more dynamic and quantum-thinking tool, mindset, and workflow. The other end of fear is excitement. If we have fear today, it is easy to feel excitement tomorrow by brining curiosity and wonder to the equation. For a Masterclass in Kindness, James C. Rhee's red helicopter is a must read.

We're midway through publication day. I will post something more profound (with live music) at a slightly later date. For now, mostly, I am just grateful at the outpouring of friendship, support, and goodwill (hey, there's a TED Talk on this - hint, hint). In Korean, we would say jeong. I just want people, of all ages and backgrounds, to read the book. Together. Yes, to get a JD/MBA/Cog Science primer. But, more so, to help us all remember the value of family and the value of mutualism. You will laugh. You will cry. All while remembering what true agency entails and feels like. Hint: you already know it requires mental and emotional agility. And the support of true friends. I wish my mom and dad were still here. We thought that the picture below pretty much captures the duality celebrated in the book. Close your eyes and try to hear Bruce Springsteen sing about upside down hedgehogs, lemonade stands, and the physics of helicopters, all while conveying the principles of civics, finance, transformation, and the inner workings of money. Not to mention birth and death. Well, that's the book. Because THAT is the business of life, and the life of business. 🚁 🦔 🍋 the red helicopter HarperOne, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers United Talent Agency Johanna Yoo Sonya Denyse 💡

In all the heat and churn of today’s DEI debate, a critical part of the story that’s getting lost is that inclusion helps you win.    Among other payoffs, #inclusion makes organizations smarter, more innovative, and more stable. Inclusion increases our collective access to knowledge, which enables us to see our competitive landscape more clearly. Inclusion delivers all of this (and more!) without hiring lots of new people or investing in expensive technology.    This doesn’t mean inclusion is easy to pull off. The other part of the story that sometimes gets lost is the inconvenient truth that building an inclusive organization takes effort. That’s the bad news.    The good news is that when you get #DEI right, inclusive teams end up (to use a technical term) thumping everyone else. They may move more slowly in the short term, but they make up the speed over time and produce consistently better outcomes.   Anne Morriss and I wanted to remind people of some of these truths in a recent opinion piece for the The New York Times that we wrote with our colleague, Caroline Elkins.   We welcome your thoughts. https://lnkd.in/eeqz8s7i Harvard Business School | TED Conferences | Harvard Business School Executive Education | Harvard Business Publishing

2024 is already off to a great start! I'm always grateful and thrilled to continue my partnership with Jim Lane at Emerson College, bringing talented writers and showrunners to campus. Our mission? To inspire and educate MFA students with masterclasses in screenwriting, and to offer them valuable insights into their future careers. My journey in the live event space has led me to collaborate with a diverse range of organizations, but this partnership with Emerson stands out, blending professionalism with personal fulfillment. It's more than just working with an expert; it's about connecting with a friend (Jim!) who shares a genuine passion for nurturing talent. This year, we were honored to have Courtney Lilly, acclaimed writer and showrunner of 'Black-Ish' and 'Grown-ish', on board. Courtney's ability to transform his professional journey into lessons for aspiring writers of all backgrounds is nothing short of inspiring. His enthusiasm for writing not only resonates with the students but also reminded me of my own reasons for being in talent representation. What are some of the exciting moments you've already experienced in 2024?
