Alex Cooper, cover star of The Hollywood Reporter’s new digital cover, credits her willingness to take risks — both in her podcast interviews and across her endeavors — as the driver behind her becoming one of the world’s biggest creators. As the “founding father” of “Call Her Daddy,” Cooper is regarded as one of the, if not *the*, most popular female podcaster in the business. She recently made national headlines with her Vice President Kamala Harris interview — which, she admits, she was initially reticent about. (“[Harris’s] team had reached out multiple times to make it happen, and it finally felt like the time was right,” Cooper says.) This summer, she expanded her resumé by joining NBC to host a streaming series, “Watch With Alex,” tied to the Paris Olympics. It was a first-time experience but one that felt “full circle,” due to her dad being a live sports producer. Ultimately, Cooper’s goal is to continue building her empire because, as she says, she’s “a motherf***er when it comes to my business and I’m not stopping.” Read the full THR story below, which dives into the interview topics she wants to go deeper on, the interview she wishes she could redo, and her dream guests. https://lnkd.in/gmUQc83S

The explosive growth of Latin music is remarkable: The genre has grown 10% annually over the last decade and in the U.S., it's the fastest growing genre on streaming platforms.   At Advertising Week New York, UTA and RIMAS Entertainment partnered to program two sessions spotlighting trends within the Latin music space and the growing influence these artists have in our culture. Toni Wallace, UTA Partner and Head of Music Brand Strategy & Partnerships, moderated both sessions.   To close out Advertising Week, RIMAS and UTA hosted the event's official wrap party, featuring performances from Eladio Carrión, Latin Mafia, and DJ Alex Sensation.   Thank you to RIMAS Entertainment CEO Noah Assad, COO Jorge Bracero, VP of Brand Partnerships Kristen Quintero-Garriga, and Talent Manager Monica Jímenez for their participation.   Watch highlights here.

“I like to be sitting in those [boardrooms] today, sitting differently than anyone else because my journey was a lot different. You have to decide are you gonna allow that differentiation to exist only? Or are you going to allow that differentiation to become a value add?” KLUTCH SPORTS GROUP, LLC CEO Rich Paul sat down with UTA client LinkedIn and it's Editor-in-Chief Daniel Roth for the latest episode of “This Is Working.” He speaks about how he’s leveraged his differences from others in his industry as a strength and driver of his work ethic, inspired by his upbringing. When Super Agent Rich Paul was a kid he didn't have much, but he had what mattered: A wise and present dad, for one, who provided what he now calls a solid foundation. He also learned a lot about adversity, how it can be a driving force and not a blocker. But what is the road like from a rough Cleveland neighborhood to becoming arguably the most driven, innovative and influential sports agent in the game? The author of the self-deprecatingly-titled memoir "Lucky Me" opens up to LinkedIn Editor-in-Chief Daniel Roth about how he got here from there — and how anyone with the right tools and frame of mind can too. “I really just wanted to make a living. Just from telling jokes,” Ali Wong tells InStyle of her earliest career goals, as part of her cover story for InStyle Now’s Winter 2024 Imagemakers Issue. Wong, of course, ended up accomplishing so much more. At the top of 2024, Wong made TV history by becoming the first woman of Asian descent to win an Emmy for a leading role, for “Beef.” She also took home a Golden Globe and SAG Award. More recently, she premiered her fourth comedy special, “Single Lady” — filmed at The Wiltern in Los Angeles during Netflix Is A Joke Fest 2024 — for the streamer. The show is currently number six on Netflix’s Top 10 charts, with nearly three million views to date. When asked how she views her success, she explained that she’s aware of it, but doesn’t spend her time thinking about it. “People say you’re only as good as your last set. That’s not even, like, a philosophy I have, it’s just kind of true," she says. Read the full cover story via InStyle below.

“How To Survive Menopause,” written by and starring Samantha Bee, is coming to Audible Theater’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York. When talking about her one-woman show on “The Daily Beast Podcast,” the Emmy-winner said her reason for documenting what she calls a “period of metamorphosis” was to show “that you’re not like wandering around in the forest by yourself. There are other people like you and you just need to identify who they are.” The comedic writer will play only three live performances from October 17-19; however, fans will be about to catch the show on Audible soon after — and get doses of her elsewhere, too: Bee hosts a namesake podcast (“Choice Words with Samantha Bee”), pens a Substack (“Plan Bee”), and co-hosts “The Daily Beast Podcast” with Joanna Coles.

Agents Curt Motley and Nick Barnes sat down with Billboard to discuss how UTA's Nashville office is growing artists’ careers beyond music, bolstered by multigenerational fan bases and the surging popularity of country and Christian genres. “An artist’s career should be multihyphenate to have longevity. We are starting earlier than ever in artists’ careers to find opportunities outside of touring to broaden their reach,” Barnes says, referencing film, television, and branding. They also spoke about how country artists are expanding into international markets, the evolving economics of touring, and unlocking career longevity. “Artists have to be conscious of the market to have the best chance at success,” Motley says. Earlier this year, the duo led the development of NBC’s televised tribute to the late Toby Keith, “Toby Keith: American Icon,” which became the network’s most-watched primetime entertainment special of 2024.
