I am so excited to share that I'll be speaking at the upcoming Intermountain Health Teen to Adult Healthcare Transition Summit. 🎤 I’ll be sharing my personal insights the sibling experience and the topic of siblings becoming caregivers. This conference is a fantastic opportunity to connect with Advanced Practice Providers, Care Coordinators, Physicians, Social Workers, Parents, and other community stakeholders who are invested in supporting youth and young adults through this critical phase. Register and attend this free event to learn about the structures, resources, and real-life experiences that shape successful healthcare transitions. From films to presentations, this event showcases the stories and successes of youth and families navigating these transitions. I'm looking forward to contributing to a collective conversation that supports families, empowers siblings, and celebrates the journeys of young adults like my brother! The Utah Parent Center is proud to support children and adults who have siblings with disabilities, just like the group featured in this story from Connecticut. Their work highlights the importance of sibling connections, something we focus on through our Sibshops and Sibling Project. These programs give siblings a space to share their experiences, find support, and build lifelong bonds.
