There’s a right way and a wrong way to build your EB-1A profile. Question: what are you trying to build in the first place? Answer: Evidence that you are recognized for being at the top of your field. So- ✅ Here’s the right way to build your profile: - obtain evidence that helps reinforce you are at the top of your field, and simultaneously helps check off meaningful categories that add real value to your case. It should be the kind of evidence that is understood and respected by your peers, your supervisors, and other high achievers in the field. Most importantly, YOU believe that this is the kind of evidence that helps you stand out as a thought leader, and you are willing to back that up. It makes you feel proud. ❌ Now here’s the wrong way to build your profile: - show “recognition” of your expertise by paying for op/ed self-marketing pieces masquerading as media coverage - check off boxes by accumulating instances of commercial awards and judging events. - having a mindset of “how can I get this done as quickly and with as little effort as possible” Because you can bet thousands of others are doing the same things. And who knows that for sure? USCIS, the one entity that sees ALL of these applications. Not to mention lawyers like us, who are now besieged by consultation requests from people who have walked down the “wrong” path and got their EB-1A’a denied. Don’t follow the crowd. In June we had our first official Vanguard Visa Law offsite in the beautiful city of Chicago! I’m just getting around now to post about it but it was an action-packed three days. We had an amazing time: 🌎 Enjoying the American Immigration Lawyers Association national conference 🍕Taking a walking food tour of the best deep dish pizza, hot dog, and Italian sandwich joints in the city 🛥️ Going on an architectural river cruise 🧢 Attending a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, 🍴And of course having amazing dinner after amazing dinner!
