Sometimes putting the S-on your chest is a hard lesson indeed. Here is another myth that we learn all to quick within the first 2weeks of going at it alone. Reach out to your Human Resource Department for Employee Assistance Program that may be available to help in your employee benefit package. Better yet, hire a Geriatric Care Manager to help you put a plan together, decrease the learning curve and help keep things in perspective. I've got a lot of them. One may be near you. Believe it or not, caregiving is a learned skilled. Not everyone is going to be good at it. Males and Females, daughters and sons will ALL have a different perspective and/or a different approach. Even children with siblings vs only children may have differences. One thing is clear, above all else, we ALL have or had parents. Since healthcare is changing, so must our approach to caregiving. Business mind: Time for my mid-year report. Starting, building and running your own business is not easy. I’ve done it before many moons ago but this time, it’s different. This time, it’s not only what you know, it’s how to connect with people who need your service through social media. It’s a new market, bigger and better but also can be demanding and more intrusive. No matter how much I wanted my customers to come through my business, I got better results from my personal pages by just being authentically me. Like it or not, my clients connected with ME. I wanted to hide. That means I have to be vulnerable. I have to get comfortable being uncomfortable. I am thankful it didn’t take me longer to discover this nugget of wisdom. I am grateful. ☺️ Personal mind: Mid-year check-in 6 months without a steady stream of income. Are you crazy!!!!! Corporate America was your thing!!! What are you thinking?!!! God has blessed me 6 months in He will bless me 6 months more! It took me 6 months of faith to know I got me 6 months more. Many more. He will guide and direct my steps! I cannot quit. I will not quit. I am on my journey now. You all have a blessed day!!!
