Happy Women’s Equality Day! Today commemorates the anniversary of women in the U.S. gaining the right to vote 104 years ago. While there has been immense progress toward equality since 1920, there is still work to do in closing the gender pay gap and removing barriers to voting many people, particularly people of color, face in parts of the country.   As a proudly women-led and certified Women- and Minority-Owned Business, Verdani acknowledges the contributions of women within and beyond our industry. It was a great honor to receive the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Green Business Committee at the Verdani Partners office this week and meet the incredible members of the committee. During their visit we got to know each other better and spoke about Verdani and Verdani Institute for the Built Environment and the sustainability measures implemented at our office space. We also did a tour of our space! We also spoke about the the Green Business Expo and the Green Business Acreditation that we are in the process of pursuing. Verdani, like our clients, aspires to be good stewards of the environment by making significant headway toward science-based targets. As of 2023, we have achieved a 34% reduction in GHG scope 1 and scope 2 emissions, closing the gap towards our 50% reduction goal by 2030. We are proud to have already achieved 69% of our goal!
