Verdantas is helping preserve NJ Farmland, One Acre at a Time! 🌱🚜 When the New Jersey State Agricultural Development Committee (SADC) Farmland Preservation Program purchased the 566-acre Buckhorn Creek Farm in White Township, NJ, they called upon Verdantas to assess potential Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) or potentially contaminated Areas of Concern (AOC) which could be present on the site. Our team conducted pre-acquisition Due Diligence investigations on behalf of the SADC, which included a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, New Jersey Preliminary Assessment (PA), and Phase II Site Investigation. The preservation effort, highly praised by local officials, ensures the land remains agricultural, supporting the long-term viability of farming in this region of the Garden State. “Protecting this farm helps to prevent the destabilization of this important agricultural region of New Jersey and ensure the long-term viability of agriculture in Warren County,” said Ed Wengryn, Secretary of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and chair of the SADC.
