The past 12 months have been a thrilling ride, the majority of which I led 2 startups simultaneously: an American vertiport company and an international nonprofit research center, both considered among the top 10 in the world. That’s no small feat considering there are now over 1,000 #eVTOL designs under development! I feel profoundly blessed to have met so many bright, passionate people who share a genuine desire to utilize #advancedairmobility technology for broad public benefit 🪶 By the numbers this year, I’ve had the honor to give keynote addresses, moderate panels, or serve as emcee in 21 Cities, including 7 US States, 12 different Countries, across 5 Continents. Already my presentations have been translated into #Japanese, #Arabic, #Spanish, #Italian, #French, #German, #Portuguese, and even #Australian ;) While we’ve already seen incredible progress and recognized as Community Engagement Team of the Year 2024, at the Advanced Air Mobility Institute, we’re just getting started 🚀🚀

The #eVTOL industry spent a lot of time and money on Capitol Hill ensuring that its interests were represented in the FAA Reauthorization Act that passed last week. For The Air Current, I broke down Section 955 of the act, which strongly urges the FAA to align with industry preferences on powered-lift pilot training and operating rules, but stops short of mandating most of those positions. Plus, another section of the act that could help avoid such misalignment between the FAA and industry in future rulemaking efforts.

Air taxis planned for Ras Al Khaimah 🤝 Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) have partnered with Skyports Infrastructure to design, develop, and operate an eVTOL ecosystem in the emirate. Skyports' vertiport infrastructure will be integrated with RAKTA’s existing transport network, providing fast and convenient zero-emission transport to Ras Al Khaimah’s most popular areas and attractions, including Al Marjan Island, Al Hamra and Jebel Jais. The Senate bill allocates $20 billion in grants for airport upgrades. I hope airport managers and operators seize this opportunity to enhance their facilities with advanced urban air mobility infrastructure and including software for operating systems.
