During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, our Ferrovial teams in the United States participated for the third year in a row in the St. Jude Walk/Run, raising more than $50,000, an amount that Ferrovial matched, contributing more than $100,000 to support St. Jude's mission in the fight against childhood cancer. In New York, we partnered with The New Terminal One at JFK to raise $16,000 for this cause. Despite the rainy weather, our team, led by Joe Schwed. CSP, RPA, FMA, Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, walked the route from Rockefeller Park along the Hudson River, and we are proud to have been one of the top five highest fundraising teams in New York City. 💪

Earlier this year, our Airport Duty Manager team hosted a visit for the students of Treloar School & College for Disabled Children and Young People who conducted an accessibility audit at SOU. The students visited all areas of the terminal to provide vital insights into how accessible our airport is and what improvements can be made. We're excited to celebrate our 5-star rating, which was received from the students at Treloar's Let Me In team. This is a wonderful achievement for our passengers and staff at Southampton Airport 👏 A big thank you to the students who took the time and effort to assess us and to OCS, ICTS, and other airport staff who supported us. We have thoroughly enjoyed forming a partnership with the college throughout this year and look forward to some exciting plans starting in October. Watch this space! #LetMeIn #CreatingAccessibleCommunities #Treloars #SouthamptonAirport

🌍 Exciting News from JFK International Airport! 🌞✈️ As we celebrate Climate Week NYC, we're thrilled to share that The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, alongside the The New Terminal One at JFK consortium, has kicked off the construction of a monumental solar energy project at JFK. 🔆 We are installing over 13,000 solar panels on the New Terminal One roof, sprawling across an area equivalent to nearly seven football fields. This will make it not only the largest solar array in New York City but also the largest at any airport terminal across the nation. Led by AlphaStruxure, this project is a significant stride towards a commitment to a greener future, with the 12-megawatt microgrid incorporating solar energy, fuel cells, and battery storage. This advanced system will power the terminal's daily operations, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and propelling us toward the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
