The VALOR™ (VIAVI Automated Lab-as-a-Service for Open RAN) lab brings together a diverse ecosystem of partners like Fujitsu to create a comprehensive, automated, and vendor-neutral testing environment. Funded by the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, the VALOR lab officially opened its Chandler, AZ facility in October 2024. We're proud to announce that we have been selected to design, build and operate a comprehensive #OpenRAN lab in the Philippines! The lab, which will be located in Quezon City, Metro Manila, is based on the VIAVI Automated Lab-as-a-Service for Open RAN (VALOR™) and is funded by USAID through the Better Access and Connectivity (BEACON) Project in collaboration with Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute, University of the Philippines - Diliman and Asia Open RAN Academy. The lab aims to further the adoption of Open RAN, lower barriers to entry for new players, and train a highly skilled workforce that can fuel the Open RAN industry in Asia. VIAVI today announced an agreement to provide automated network inventory management capabilities leveraging VIAVI NITRO® AIOps for Telefonica Hispanoamérica (HISPAM), the Telefónica Group unit with operations in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela. The AIOps Inventory Management solution will manage both passive and active network components for Telefónica HISPAM across all domains including Radio, Core, IP, Transmission, Microwave, and Fiber Optics, and will also provide IP Address Management (IPAM).
