We know our dedicated team members may not be the first to come to mind when you think about first responders in our community; but our front line works hard around the clock – responding to urgent and emergency calls and taking swift action to ensure safety. Our teams often work alongside law enforcement officers and firefighters in cases where natural gas infrastructure is compromised, or service has or could be affected by emergency circumstances. As close partners of other first responders in the community, we truly appreciate the commitment and service of all who are the first to respond in times of need. The enduring legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen continues to be a force for good in communities across America. We are proud to support their vital social justice initiatives with a $5,000 charitable donation. Today, EnRapport, one of Virginia Natural Gas' employee resource groups, presented this donation to the Tidewater Chapter Tuskegee Airmen. Our team was honored to meet Mr. Thomas Newton, one of the last living Tuskegee Airmen, along with Dr. Bill Burrell and Mrs. Therese Addison.

Did you know October is Energy Awareness Month! We had an incredible day hosting dozens of local teachers for an energy awareness workshop in partnership with The NEED Project. Teachers from across Eastern Virginia gathered to explore renewable and nonrenewable energy sources, energy efficiency and more. They got hands-on by building energy-efficient houses and learned about RNG and CNG technology from Southern Company Gas. It was an inspiring day filled with creativity and valuable insights into energy education! We’re confident the future of energy is in good hands. Thank you to all the educators who participated and continue to empower the energy leaders of tomorrow.
