Danielle was a dextrous gig worker who assumed that a full-time salaried role with benefits was simply not realistic. Employer-sponsored child care changed everything. Now Danielle is back in the workforce, managing social media and events full-time, while adding incredible value to her employer's bottom line. Caregiving benefits are more than just a nice thing to do. They’re a business imperative. In fact, the case studies in Vivvi's recent report, "The R.O.I. of Caregiving Benefits," produced in partnership with Lauren Smith Brody of The Fifth Trimester, showed that every $1 invested in caregiving benefits drives $18.93, for an R.O.I. of nearly 18x. Here at Vivvi, we love when we can support working parents with more than just child care! theSkimm's Editor in Chief Niven McCall-Mazza recently interviewed Vivvi's Director of Campus Operations Christie Pinheiro at their NYC headquarters for a special workshop for their Skimm Mamas ERG focused on challenging behaviors for young children (we've all been there!). For working parents who are wondering what to do about their little ones' most challenging behaviors—think biting, whining, tantrums and more—here are some of Christie's top tips: ✅ Establish Consistent Routines: Regular schedules help children feel secure and understand what to expect. ✅ Teach Emotional Regulation: Help children recognize and label their emotions. ✅ Give Yourself Grace: Parenting—and working parenting!—is hard. Be kind to yourself and remember you're learning as your child is learning. Thank you theSkimm and Michelle Stabinsky for organizing such a thoughtful event and being the type of workplace that supports working parents in every way!

What could you get done for your workplace on a day you have child care coverage? The R.O.I. for companies that provide child care benefits to their working caregivers is real—and calculable! In fact, according to our recent Vivvi report released in partnership with Lauren Smith Brody of The Fifth Trimester, every $1 invested in caregiving benefits drives $18.93, for an R.O.I. of nearly 18x. If you're talking about "return to office" then you should talk about child care too. According to Vivvi's recent report, "The ROI of Caregiving Benefits" in partnership with Lauren Smith Brody, if survey respondents had backup or subsidized child care through their employer: ✅ 69% would work in person more often than required ✅ 59% would stay at their employer for more than 4 years ✅ 57% would take on higher level work Find out what else working parents could do—and how their companies could benefit—if they had caregiving benefits that mattered to them here: https://lnkd.in/eXfPRyEi

Child care for 2 children costs more than rent in every U.S. state. It's not something that private sector can solve alone; we need our legislative leaders to tackle the child care crisis, too. Join us in supporting Moms First to urge CNN to put child care where it belongs, on the presidential debate stage. #Debates2024 Sign the petition at https://lnkd.in/ewGHvNgY

Childcare falls through sometimes, and parents need help. At WSC, we offer Vivvi at no cost to our employees. That means parents can find an approved babysitter on the day-of or be compensated for finding their own alternative care. “My parents have watched our 4-year-old daughter several times through the Vivvi program and that $100/day compensation helps cover food for our daughter and their time away from personal obligations while they help us out. When we tell family or friends about this benefit, they have a hard time believing WSC just gives us this benefit without having to pay into it!” - Matthew Rodrigues, WSC Engineer We're here to support working parents.
