When we thought we would never again experience the emotions we felt at the event in Belgrade where we launched Vogue Adria, our event in Paris, from its very first minutes, proved us wrong. Celebrating the upcoming sports days that are synonymous with unity and a reminder that play is an important concept in every part of our lives, as well as our summer double issue, Vogue Adria hosted guests at one of the most beautiful locations in Paris. Jelena and Novak Djokovic, as the official hosts of the event, ensured that this evening would be remembered by everyone with a smile on their face.

The cover star of the summer issue of Vogue Adria is none else than the greatest of them all, Novak Djokovic. Our new issue is inspired by the greatest sports competition in the world and dedicated to sports as an eternal inspiration and an integral part of life. From a major interview with the world's tennis superstar, to discussions on women in sports and the inequality within, to tribute to the Sarajevo Olympic Games through conversations with Selma Zukić Popović, the costume designer, Jože Trobec, the creator of the legendary mascot Vučko, and the story of the Sarajevo Snowflake and its mysterious author. In addition to sports, Ugo Gattoni, Marina Marković, and Matija Čop talk about their art and vision, while the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, and the official choreographer of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games, Thomas Jolly, share insights about everything the world will see this year in Paris. Let the games begin!

With Amelia Gray on the cover, the fourth issue of Vogue Adria, celebrates summer and with it the sea and water as the ultimate element that allows us to better understand ourselves and others, to be more fluid and adaptable, to understand the connectedness and our role in polluting but also solving the problems of planet Earth. From the Adriatic comes the sound of the Mediterranean in the rhythm of the Velvet Festival, but also three special sea stories about literature and art, fishing from a female perspective, and very special underwater wineries. With Erika Lust, the director of ethical and feminist porn films, we talked about women's pleasure and empowerment, Vice Tomašević reminds us how the Water Manifesto should sound and why water is so important, Astrida Neimanis writes about what does hydrofeminism mean, Tina Lončar writes about materials of the future, waste reduction, and Hungry Sharks reveal to us what underwater theater looks like.

With Abby Champion on the cover, the third issue of Vogue Adria is all about celebrating distinctive voices and perspectives. From an exclusive story behind this year’s Met Gala exhibition, artistic conversations at the Venice Biennale, to Jordan Cvetanović and Fannie Sosa who each in their own ways celebrate freedom both in art and in everyday life. In an ever-changing world, it’s important to find ways to support, celebrate and encourage all the differences around us and people who never stop fighting for what they believe in. The month of May is the perfect time for such celebration.

Our second issue is here! This month, Vogue Adria focuses on what’s coming next and who are the voices that will give new directions and shape the future. With its cover featuring rising fashion star Malika Louback-Mohamed, shot by Vitali Gelwich, the April issue of Vogue Adria proves its focus on youth culture and the hope that comes with young voices by celebrating their talent, power, and uniqueness. Raiven, Baby Lasagna, Teya Dora, Pretty Loud, Skrabzi, Filip Ćustić, Amina Pilav, Nađa Petrović, Hazim Hadžić, Monika Herceg, and many more featured in this issue prove that regional talents flourish. Youth is not only about age, but also about the ability to constantly wonder, remain interested, open, and curious towards the world and ourselves, and manage to shift perspectives everywhere. Our April issue is an open invitation to that.

FIRST ISSUE OF VOGUE ADRIA, March 2024 ‘Nova zora’ meaning ‘new dawn’ has the same meaning in all languages of the Adria region. Rooted locally but resonating globally, no other model could illustrate the beginning of Vogue Adria and the issue’s theme of boundaries and the people who transcend them better than Serbian modelling legend Nataša Vojnović, who has graced a number of Vogue covers in her 30-year career. “Boundaries are a geopolitical concept born with the idea of separation, but they are also an excellent fantasy because for art, talent, friendship, written or spoken word, they do not exist,” says Vogue Adria Editor in Chief Milan Djacic. For the Vogue Adria cover shoot, Nataša is wearing a dress created by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin in 2007. The dress with her face on it captured by Steven Meisel, speaks to Nataša's significance in the fashion world where she left a special mark. As well as Vogue's dedication to sustainability, by reviving this unique, archival piece.
