We are so proud of Tannaz Afshar
Ph.D. Candidate at Carnegie Mellon University | Architecture -Engineering- Construction Management program
So incredibly grateful to announce that I've successfully passed my comprehensive exams in #AECM at Carnegie Mellon University! This has been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I couldn't have done it without the unwavering support of my amazing professors: Dr. Joshua Lee, Dr. Erica Cochran Hameen, PhD, Dr. Melissa Bilec, and Dr. Azadeh O. Sawyer, LEED AP. Their guidance and insightful feedback have been invaluable. I am extremely grateful for the invaluable experiences I gained during my internships at #ConstructionJunction, Volpatt Construction, #kaarta, and #EnterpriseSpaceInformationManagement(ESIM) department at #CMU. Learning from Mike Gable in the field significantly broadened my understanding of the circular economy. Additionally, Working alongside Michael Volpatt and Rae Tournay provided me with insights into the real-world applications of sustainable construction. Now, I'm eager to delve deeper into my dissertation research, exploring innovative ways to assess the usability of materials recovered from deconstructed buildings, focusing on sustainability and stakeholder collaboration. My goal is to help shape a future where sustainable practices and equity drive the built environment. #ComprehensiveExams #PhDJourney #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #CMU #CarnegieMellon
