VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is the only comprehensive volunteer center in Hampton Roads, serving all cities in the Hampton Roads region. VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is a member of the Points of Light global network. Whether it is providing training, facilitating volunteerism, or coordinating large-scale projects, VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads’ efforts complement the work of area nonprofits and build their capacity to deliver their services and achieve their missions. As a local leader in nonprofit excellence, we have learned the importance of staying consistent, mission focused and deepening programs and service deliveries, rather than continually creating new programs and activities.

  • A huge thank you to everyone who attended today's Corporate Volunteer Council meeting! With representatives from 20 organizations, it was an inspiring gathering of businesses committed to making a difference. A special shoutout to VIA design for hosting and presenting on their corporate volunteer program. Attendees also rolled up their sleeves to assemble kits for Fear 2 Freedom and Help and Emergency Response Inc., supporting survivors in our community. The Corporate Volunteer Council brings together businesses passionate about community engagement, providing resources to strengthen corporate volunteer programs and drive meaningful impact.   • Join REACH (Reading Enriches All Children), as they work to promote literacy for at-risk/homeless children throughout Coastal Virginia! Earlier this week our volunteers processed, sorted, and stickered over 2,300 books at REACH's The Big Free Bookstore. The Union Mission is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with warehouse duties at their Thrift Store. Tasks include managing donation drop-offs, guiding deliveries, and organizing items in the production area. Forklift certification is a plus, but not required.
