SAF ♻ : Ready for take-off down-under ✈ : Just add policy! What does it take to get SAF off the ground? This is the question I addressed at Australian Renewable Fuels Week recently in Canberra. I think there 7 core elements: 1. Technology (can we technically make SAF that is certified as fit-for-purpose) ✅ 2. Sustainable (do we have a robust framework for assessing sustainability) ✅ 3. Policy (vital - some 45 countries with policy implemented or being developed) ☑ 4. Economics and commercial (there must be a business case!) ☑ And then the 3Ps: (can't overstate how important these are) - People - Partnerships - Persistence On the topics of partnerships, as Boeing we are excited to partner with Wagner Sustainable Fuels on several initiatives with the goal of seeing SAF flowing, in volume, produced in Queensland. More to come on this! Kudos to BioEnergy Aust (Shahana McKenzie and team) for facilitating an excellent event.
