One of the coolest programs I get to work with is the BNY UpPrize: Social Innovation Challenge! Anna Li of Korion Health is a powerhouse with a heart of gold who was an UpPrize 2023 Finalist. Check out the video below, made by The Warhol Academy, to learn more about how UpPrize provides funding to local startups who address social challenges with tech and about a local Pittsburgh startup that is doing good. Want to learn more about past UpPrize finalists and find out who this year's finalists will be? Follow the UpPrize LinkedIn page.

The BNY UpPrize Social Innovation Challenge empowers entrepreneurs to solve some of our community’s most pressing problems. Korion Health was a finalist of the 2023 UpPrize cycle. Learn how UpPrize has impacted Korion Health’s journey this past year in the video below:

I'll say it again: PA artists and arts and culture professionals, did you know that the PA government set aside American Rescue Plan funding to help you recover from income loss during the pandemic? If you're in Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, or Greene counties, your opportunity to apply for this funding opens Monday, July 1 via the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council. Visit https://lnkd.in/ewknJDmH to learn more. Thanks again to the PA General Assembly for passing the legislation that made the Pennsyvlania Arts and Culture Recovery Grant Program possible, particularly to Senator Tim Kearney for introducing this legislation in 2022. Also thanks to Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development for administering this program.

Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council held a special event at Carnegie Museum of Art highlighting their Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 report to give more insights into findings around how our arts and cultural sector impacts and enhances our regional economy, local residents, and visitors. In addition to the panel of esteemed guests, we were fortunate to have our very own Camila Casas be represented in her role as a Media Producer for the short video she edited tying our ecosystem back to the regional arts and culture economy as well as an artist herself reflecting on her own story as she gave remarks at the event. To say we are proud to have Camila come through our programs and now join us as a team member is an understatement as it has been a pleasure and privilege to play a part in the growth of her creative career as she deepens her roots here in Pittsburgh. #creativeeconomy #creativeecosystem #TWAalum #thepopdistrict #artsandculture

It's Mentorception over here at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh as our Media Producer, Camila Casas, served as a photo mentor for one of current Filmmaking and Post Production Fellows, Jasnoor Kaur, to capture and edit images promoting CMP's new Mentorship Pilot Program. This kind of creative mentorship is made possible as our fellowship programming offers professional development opportunities for up-and-coming creatives to participate in internal museum and external client productions with the more seasoned members of our creative teams providing guidance and oversight to ensure the content captured and edited still meets the standards of our in-house production boutique, The Warhol Creative . Shout out to Jessica Graves, SHRM-CP for trusting our creatives with curating content to debut their Mentorship Pilot Program! Congrats on launching this unique experience.

Carnegie Museums has launched an exciting new program! Designed to invest in the amazing pool of talent here at the museums, the Mentorship Pilot Program pairs seasoned leaders with dedicated employees from across the entire Institute. Over the next ten months, this group will participate in unique professional development opportunities, build meaningful relationships, and learn from one another’s diverse experiences and perspectives. The museums are fueled by the passion, hard work, and ingenuity of our employees; we can’t wait to see the ways this program will enrich their experience and inspire them to new heights. 📸: Warhol Creative

Fresh press coming off The Andy Warhol Museum's 30th Anniversary celebrations. Excerpt from Associate Director The Warhol, Dan Law: “'I don’t think it’s a controversial statement that the art world is categorically conservative, and its core behavior is conservative and risk-averse. This pushes directly against that,” Law contended. “We said we’d do $1 million of wages back into the community. Last year, we did $1.5 million. We said we’d offer 50 jobs, whether full-time, part-time or project-based. We’ve provided over 400 in three years.' He added: 'The giant 800-pound gorilla in the room is the economics of all of this. At the end of the day, artists need to make money to survive. They need to pay their rent. They need to pay their mortgage. They need to feed their families. And institutions have access to that money and those resources.'” https://lnkd.in/eJupMGZi

Building and maintaining a thriving creative ecosystem is a big lift that requires a lot of hands, hearts, and minds coming together to support it. We feel well supported by the many wonderful organizations in our ecosystem that provide programming, resources, and encouragement to youth and adults who are looking to explore and learn new things. A big shout out to all the teams and their organizations for helping us kick off our first Opportunity Day last week at the Carnegie Science Center! They provided everything from screen printing to live DJing to screen tests and social media content production for people young and old to experience first-hand. Ever since Covid, a lot of our networks and connections have been disrupted and many people are looking for the humans they need to connect with to help take next steps towards their goals as artists, creatives, makers, business owners, and changemakers. We highly recommend starting by clicking through and learning about the organizations that represented with us at Opportunity Day. Let's keep it growing! There are many steps to take to grow as a professional. Being exposed to frameworks and proven project management processes is a necessary step that everyone from tech workers to educators to live performers needs to take to realize growth. Arie Cole (Ron Coleman) made his move when he decided to enroll in our Digital Marketing Diploma program last year. As an artist and entrepreneur, he brought with him an established process for producing live performance events and complimented that with workflows to better promote those events to audiences that were eager to show out. It also takes an openness to put yourself out there as an artist, business owner, or job seeker, and Arie Cole brought that openness to learning the techniques and best practices that have helped him to bring his shows to larger venues and bigger audiences as he grows his online presence. Open yourself to learning a new way to reach your audience by applying for the next session of our state-licensed Digital Marketing Diploma program.
