Like many banking, airline and healthcare systems across the nation, we are facing some issues caused by CrowdStrike. While we are experiencing some internal computer issues, patient care is not affected. At this time, only a few appointments, or procedures have been rescheduled. By the end of today, we anticipate that all issues will be resolved.

About us
Washington Township Health Care District is governed by an elected board and includes Washington Hospital Healthcare System. Unlike a municipal or county hospital, Washington Hospital’s operating expenses, research, community programs, and employee salaries are funded by revenues generated through providing patient and other health care services. Opened in 1958, Washington Hospital Healthcare System has grown to include a 341-bed, acute-care hospital; Morris Hyman Critical Care Pavilion; Taylor McAdam Bell Neuroscience Institute; Gamma Knife® Center; Washington Radiation Oncology Center; Washington Outpatient Surgery Center; Washington Outpatient Rehabilitation Center; Institute for Joint Restoration and Research; Washington Township Medical Foundation; and Washington West––a complex that houses Washington Women’s Center, Outpatient Imaging Center, Sandy Amos RN Infusion Center, Washington Urgent Care, UCSF – Washington Cancer Center, and additional outpatient hospital services and administrative facilities. We were out in our community again, hosting on-site stroke education at Western Allied Mechanical and offering blood pressure checks. Clinical experts from our advanced primary stroke program conducted assessments and shared insights on prevention. Just one of the many ways we are fostering healthier communities. Every year, local 4-H and Future Farmers of America students exhibit their livestock at the Alameda County Fair and sell their animals in the Junior Livestock Auction. We support many activities in our community, including purchasing and incorporating locally sourced, high-quality, organic meat in our cafeteria. Our community investment in the livestock auction provides local students with funding for future projects and college education. #4H #FFA

Yesterday, we celebrated our new Level II Trauma Center that will officially open on July 1 to care for life-threatening injuries, close to home. This was a wonderful day for our residents who previously had to be transported out of the area for trauma care, which can take ambulances 45-75 minutes in traffic. Trauma services will be available around-the-clock for high-risk injuries that can happen at a moment’s notice. Trauma centers are distinct areas of a hospital emergency department staffed by a team of specially trained health professionals who treat life-threatening injuries. WHHS CEO Kimberly Hartz, WTHCD Board President Dr. Jacob Eapen, and trauma medical director Dr. Chet Morrison, joined Alameda County Health EMS Director Lauri McFadden, and trauma survivor Jorge Nava, with his wife Daisy to share his trauma journey to recovery.
