About us
WCI is a recognised expert in the UK wastewater industry. We combine consulting engineering services with full turnkey installation and maintenance to provide a complete ‘design and build’ service to domestic and commercial clients. Serving domestic homeowners, commercial businesses and public sector service providers, WCI brings together disciplines and capabilities specifically associated with off-mains sewerage and surface water management. Bridging the gap between generalist groundworkers and large multi-disciplinary consulting engineering agencies, WCI provides professional yet cost-effective access to wastewater engineering where multi-disciplinary engineering services are not required. We are engaged by homeowners, small business owners and estates and facilities management teams. We work alongside and are often introduced by architects, surveyors, building contractors and consulting engineers. If its sewage or surface water, WCI can help.

🌿 In-house strimmer refresher training last week for our service engineers. As we take on more service contracts for commercial sewage treatment plants, we’re regularly finding it hard to access treatment plants in compounds that are overgrown with weeds. After this session, we’re jungle-ready and will be able to access and service any sewage treatment plant!🌿 #strimming #gardening #groundsmaintenance

Service engineer, Taz visited a property earlier this month to rectify an aged VSM sewage treatment system that was in need of some TLC. Having checked the structural integrity of the false floor, Taz fitted a new airlift assembly and refilled the system with media. The system was tested and given a clean bill of health, and the customer was happy to have been able to repair rather than replace their system. #repairdontreplace #repair #service #maintenance #sewagetreatment #goodasnew

This week is #FloodActionWeek and it seems the weather certainly got the memo! The national awareness week is a stark reminder that the 18 months up to February 2024 were the wettest 18 months on record in England. As we prepare for another wet winter it’s important check the health of your sewage treatment system. WCI engineers see many private drainage systems affected by floods in the wetter autumn and winter months. Problems can arise from: 🌊 Fluvial flooding. Rivers in spate that break their banks can compromise the discharge from and/ or flood the sewage treatment system. On occasion we have a report of a system fully submerged! 🌊 Surface water flooding caused by poor surrounding drainage infrastructure, exacerbated by saturated land, heavy rainfall and poor land management. 🌊 Ground water flooding. Usually seen later in the year as ground water levels rise and impact the performance of historic drainage fields and soakaways that have been installed without enough clearance from the winter groundwater levels. Evidence is also seen in the form of ground water ingress into damaged pipework, manholes or tanks which allows excess water to overwhelm the system and reduces treatment performance. 🌊 Flooding from the sea. We look after several sewage treatment plants that discharge into the sea, estuaries or tidal rivers. High seasonal tides and winter weather can damage outfall pipework and inundate systems. Any flooding can be disruptive, distressing, and costly. WCI can provide help on many levels: from Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) as part of a planning application, and the design and installation of systems to overcome flooding, to the service and maintenance of systems affected by flooding. We also conduct expert witness work often as a last resort. #Flooding #FloodActionWeek #EnvironmentAgency #FloodRiskAssessment #Drainage #SewageTreatment

Thank you to the team at Graf UK Ltd for this footage from last 'summer' when were were installing a One2Clean packaged treatment plant.
Check out our latest case study featuring our One2Clean packaged treatment plant, expertly installed by WCI Group Ltd for a property in Somerset. You may remember that we shared some snaps from the day a couple of months ago. The homeowner desperately needed to replace their outdated septic tank before they sold their house, and in this video, you'll find out why they decided to install a Graf UK Ltd wastewater treatment system.

#ThrowbackThursday Looking back to 2016 when we installed two WCS Environmental Engineering - Wastewater HiPAF tanks and two primary tanks at Home Farm Holiday Centre. Last week Service Engineer Taz was back onsite providing a comprehensive routine service of the sewage treatment plants and was pleased to report that, even after a busy season, all is working at it should be. Having designed and installed the system, WCI continues to provide regular servicing and maintenance to ensure the system meets environmental standards and allows the owners uninterrupted hassle-free functionality. If your sewage treatment system could benefit from a little TLC, get in touch service@wci.co.uk for a comprehensive health check and service. #sewagetreatmentplant #drainage #wastewater #environmentalimpact #sewagesystem #localbusinesssupportinglocalbusiness #ServicingAndRepairs

🌿Over the past couple of months, we at WCI had the privilege of upgrading eight septic tanks on the beautiful Cothelstone Estate in Somerset as part of our free upgrade scheme. By installing Graf UK Ltd one2clean sewage treatment plants across a range of sizes, we collectively achieved a phosphate betterment of 15.59kg! 💧 These offsets are not only making a tangible difference to our local environment by eliminating direct discharges but also helping stalled developments get back on track by enabling crucial phosphate credits. Proud to offer a solution that benefits both the environment and local communities! 🌱 #Sustainability #EnvironmentalImpact #PhosphateCredits #WastewaterTreatment #WCI #CothelstoneEstate #GrafUK #BetterTogether #NutrientNeutrality https://lnkd.in/etEjh43u

🎺 Over the weekend we hit a milestone of 100 Google reviews. We don't like to blow our trumpet but as a small business we're always incredibly grateful to our customers for taking the time to leave some kind words and to share their experiences with others. And, naturally, we're thrilled to have such overwhelmingly positive reviews! #customersatisfaction #customerservice #customerreview #happycustomer #customerfeedback #review

Today marks the work anniversary of two members of staff. When JON EDWARDS joined WCI eight years ago he one was of only five people working out of a small unit in Wiveliscombe, with just two company vehicles. Fast forward a few years and now, as Operations Manager, Jon is responsible for the processes of a significantly larger the company that now boasts the addition of Service, Consulting Engineering and Nutrient Neutrality divisions. Alade John Akintunde joined WCI as a graduate engineer a year ago and even in this relatively short time as been a part of big changes here. We’ve grown to fill three units in Wiveliscombe, we’ve expanded our fleet, and we now sell phosphate credits as part of our nutrient mitigation scheme. Thank you both from all of the team! #WorkAnniversary #Teamwork #CareerGrowth #TeamAppreciation
