NERC is pleased to announce the release of the sixth installment of its compliance podcast, “Currently Compliant.” Hosted by ERO Enterprise subject matter experts (SMEs), “Currently Compliant” is intended to be a quick way to bring attention to frequently asked questions on which the SMEs have some clear insights to share. Currently Compliant: Episode 6 focuses on the EOP-011-4 Implementation Plan. EOP-011-4 – Emergency Operations applies to Balancing Authorities, Reliability Coordinators, and Transmission Operators, along with some Transmission Owners and Distribution Providers that are identified in their Transmission Operator’s operating plan(s) to mitigate operating emergencies. The associated implementation plan has different phased-in compliance dates for certain sections, and this update should provide clarity around the dates that entities must begin to comply. This episode features Derek Kassimer, NERC senior engineer, Compliance Assurance. Listen now: https://lnkd.in/g9RxgCbp

On this day 21 years ago, North America experienced the largest blackout in its history, a pivotal day in our industry. Recent power outages here in Northeast Ohio are a reminder that we must stay vigilant regarding all reliability risks. We must continue to work with industry and policymakers to plan, build, operate, and maintain an electric grid that is reliable, resilient, and secure. We commemorated the 20-year anniversary of this event with The Grid, which we produced alongside North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Northeast Power Coordinating Council, Inc. (NPCC) last year. You can watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gefhEjFQ #ForwardTogether #Electricity #Reliability
