It's back-to-school season, and we are excited to give back to the families in our community! Our annual Back-to-School Supply Drive was a great success, as our employees banded together and provided donated school supply items to be delivered to BakerRipley. These items will be used to empower local students and teachers as they begin a new year! We want to thank our staff for their unwavering dedication to helping our community thrive. #BeAWarrior

The island vibes were in full swing for Hawaiian Shirt Day at our Katy Outpatient Clinic! Both patients and staff brought the island spirit to life with the bright colors, bold patterns and lots of smiles. A little joy and fun can go a long way towards healing!

In recognition and appreciation of our outstanding employees, our Service Excellence team organized a breakfast treat! Wayne, our Culinary Director, was joined by Ken, the Culinary Director from Kingwood Pines Hospital, as they whipped up omelets with sides of homemade biscuits and hash browns. Happy National Psychiatric Technician Appreciation Day! We have been showing some love to our amazing Mental Health Techs by providing them with catered lunches and customized sling bags. One team, one vision, one goal!

We are pleased to announce Phuong Cardoza as our new CEO! Our team organized a welcome gathering BBQ picnic in order to introduce Phuong (second from left) to our dedicated staff. Phuong joins us with a wealth of valuable healthcare experience, including a previous stint as our Director of Intake, and several prominent leadership roles within our organizational system. We look forward to continued success as she utilizes her knowledge and leadership skills to further our mission within the local community and beyond. Welcome back to West Oaks, Phuong!

We want to wish a happy retirement to Mr. Charles, our beloved Activity Aide/Music Therapist! Mr. Charles has brought joy and support to countless patients through beats, music, and tunes. Charles, may your retirement bring you the rest and relaxation you so richly deserve. We celebrate both your career and your future happiness. Mr. Charles says, "I started working at West Oaks Hospital in 2016, working as a Music Therapist in the Recreation Therapy Department. West Oak has given me the opportunity to work with clients from all walks of life, from different backgrounds and situations. I have been able to use the power of music as a therapeutic modality to help patients learn, cope, and heal from mental health and drug addiction issues. I thank West Oak for that. I've also had the pleasure of working with a highly trained team of professionals, and it has made me a better therapist. All of these things I will dearly miss. Thank you, West Oaks!"
