Collecting and distributing new and gently used items to keep infants and children up to age 12 safe, warm and dry!
About us
WestSide Baby is a nonprofit organization that collects previously owned items for children and babies and distributes them free of charge to King County families in need. We work through local social service agencies already assisting low-income families. Agencies order items from us and deliver them to families who are homeless, living in transitional housing, or simply in need of a little help during a difficult time. We work toward a day when all babies and young children in our community have their basic physical needs met - enough diapers, food, adequate clothing, books, and safe equipment for their care.

In launching WestSide Baby in 2001, Donna Pierce volunteered for five years working toward a dream where all children would have their basic physical needs met, enough diapers, food, adequate clothing and safe places to sleep, ride and eat. The Donna Pierce Service Award is a special way to thank and recognize individuals, groups, corporations, community organizations or foundations that have provided extraordinary service, commitment and support to WestSide Baby. We are so thankful for our partnerships across King Count that make our work possible. Recently, we reinitiated the Donna Pierce award, with our 2023 recipient a valuable partner: Nucor Steel Seattle, Inc. We appreciate you 💚 ---- [Image description: Interim Executive Director Laura and Deputy Director Becky with Nucor staff Shayne, holding a Donna Pierce Certificate in front of the Nucor Steel Seattle warehouse]

"We live in a world that’s built for a 'fully formed', able-bodied adult human; I’ve learned so much about basic needs, how it looks different for each person, including the many components to manage basic needs and safety for children." - Jarrod Kluk, Program Coordinator and Car Seat Technician.
