We were incredibly excited to host our Valley Ventures Capstone Pitch Competition at the Fresno State Winery earlier this month. This event marked the conclusion of our intensive, month-long curriculum, which focused on sales and marketing training, grant writing, investor relations, pilot site demonstrations, and technical mentorship. Congratulations to Penny Lane Case from Nexstera Tech for presenting the winning pitch of the evening! Penny will have the opportunity to present at the Plug & Play Silicon Valley Summit in June. View a recap of the pitch competition here - https://lnkd.in/g-qEYrMv A special thanks to all the founders, judges, and community members who made our pitch competition a success. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for these visionary companies!

CSU Monterey Bay is a valued partner in BlueTechValley, and it was a privilege to support them at the Women in Venture Capital initiative. At the Water, Energy and Technology (WET) Center, we work together to strengthen our network and drive innovation in entrepreneurship. The event, hosted by Executive Champions May Roen and Hilary Bryant, featured an insightful panel with industry leaders who shared their experiences navigating the space, driving innovation, and shaping the future of entrepreneurship: ✨ Karen Sheffield, MBA – Founder & Managing Partner of Pachamama Ventures ✨ Margaret Lawrence Rosas – Head of Customer Success at MotherDuck ✨ Dr. Tianyue Yu – Entrepreneur and Business Leader Founder and CEO of Q3D Sensing Their insights highlighted the critical role of strong ecosystems in fostering innovation and ensuring diverse perspectives are represented in venture capital and entrepreneurship. Thanks to Jennifer Kuan, Marylou Shockley, and the iiED College of Business at California State University, Monterey Bay, for organizing this meaningful initiative. Events like this strengthen our collaborative network and create new opportunities for women in venture capital. I look forward to seeing how this program continues to grow and make an impact.
