Carmel Green Initiative and the Carmel Clay Public Library are partnering to host another Green Gift Shop on 12/5/2024 at the Carmel Clay Public Library. Join them for environmentally friendly gift ideas that are local, organic, natural or made from recycled & repurposed materials. The library will also be showcasing all their holiday books.

The 2024 Indiana Water Summit brought together more than 200 people to discuss the complex issues that face our water supply. From interactive activities to panel discussions, the conversations were critical in working toward developing a State Water Plan. The speaker presentations are now available on our website! Did you know that our watershed covers 1.7 million acres? All water flows to our White River within that watershed via tributaries (smaller streams).

Join us for a Wader Walk a week from today! Splash into a more in-depth discussion about some of our local waterways and tributaries to the White River: Pleasant Run and Bean Creek! This special wader walk will be cohosted by the White River Alliance and @kibiorg's Waterway Engagement Coordinator. Help us evaluate the quality of local streams’ habitat while also picking up litter in the process! At this event, we will be grading the environment in and around the stream through a Visual Assessment and by conducting a Citizens Qualitative Habitat Evaluation Index (CQHEI). Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) is providing materials to clean up the stream as we assess it. There will be two more Habitat Evaluation Events after 10/25 this fall on 11/15 and 12/6.
