We’re excited to shine the WW spotlight on Jessica Murrey, CEO & Co-Founder of Wicked Saints Studios, the Black female-led video game studio that employs behavioral technology to empower Gen Z to build real-life skills. Jessica is an Emmy-winning storyteller who is changing the gaming industry for good and believes that gaming is key to building a better world. She spent years traveling the globe with the world's largest conflict resolution organization before pivoting to the gaming industry. She’s also an international speaker, was named one of 34 Female Founders to watch in 2023 by American Business Journals, and has received accolades such as the 2024 BTA "Force of Good Award." Raising over $4.6M in venture capital, Jessica joins an exclusive group of startups helmed by one of under 100 Black women founders who have ever raised $1 million or more. 🚀 Her advice for people early in their career? 👇 “Starting off, it's easy to fall in love with your product. Instead, fall in love with people. The people you're making the product for, and even more so, the people helping you build your product. The product will and should change. But getting passionate people to pour their hard-won expertise and creativity into your vision is priceless. You need a special team for this long, difficult journey. Focus on getting the right people and building trust.” ⭐️Connect with Jessica and learn more below. ___________________ Wednesday Women is powered by Commsor 🦕, helping us introduce another outstanding executive woman leader every Wednesday. So honored to be included among these 34 amazing women. Thank you, Jim Dallke, The Business Journals, and American Inno. I get the fanfare, but I'd be nowhere without Alicia Clifton, Daphne Larose-Molapo, Mitchell Smallman, Christian Marsh Reiman, and the whole Wicked Saints Studios team.

IT'S FINALLY TIME! ⏳ 🙌 #GameforThought Season 4 premieres TOMORROW at 8 pm CET, tackling a topic that has been hotly debated for years -- How much Violence is Too Much Violence? Night Trap, Doom, Mortal Kombat, Grand Theft Auto... what do all these games have in common? They're all early players in the "does video game violence directly cause real-life violence?" debate. From as early on as the 1970s, the world (beyond the games community) has contested the competency of digital representations of violence to translate into legitimate acts of brutality, or even -- at the slightest -- impacting moral perceptions of violence. While there is insufficient evidence proving a causal link between video games and violence, the debate still stands after decades, with a popular counterargument of artistic creative freedom. This topic is one that requires nuance; thus, we ask our panelists the question: "How much violence is TOO much violence?" We're thrilled and honored to have John MacInnes (MacInnes Studios), Jessica Murrey (Wicked Saints Studios), and Suzanne Freyjadis, MA (International Game Developers Association (IGDA®) on board for our Season 4 premiere. They'll join us for a 75-minute panel discussion, delving into the topic and providing unique insights based on experience. Already have some questions for our panelists? Great! Put 'em here and they very well may be asked during the stream 👉 https://lnkd.in/ew4UaePM Catch you on Twitch tomorrow evening at 8 pm CET: https://lnkd.in/eQRQM2G Can't wait to be back!! 🎬 🎮 ✨ #gameforthought #gftseason4 #ethicsingames #digitalentertainment #violence #violenceingames Howest - Digital Arts and Entertainment HOWEST University of Applied Sciences Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds Flemish Games Association
