  • In honor of Women in Construction Week and our theme, Wise Women Rise Together, we’re wrapping up our mentorship highlights with Assistant Superintendent Jessica Ronayne. Jessica reflects on the influential women who have shaped her perspective and outlook on the construction industry—and how their support continues to inspire her growth. ⬇️ ❓What types of projects have you worked on throughout your career? "I've had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including labs, healthcare facilities, academic buildings, hospitality spaces, and residential developments. Each project presented its own set of challenges and lessons, helping me grow and giving me a well-rounded perspective on the industry." ❓Have you had any female influences who helped you overcome challenges on your projects? "Absolutely! I've been fortunate to work with incredible women in roles like estimating, project management, and even in the field—including those with subcontractors. Their guidance and support have played a huge role in helping me navigate challenges and grow in my career." ❓How have they helped you grow professionally and personally? "These women have shown me how every role—whether in the field, office, or on the client side—contributes to a project’s success. By learning from them, I’ve stepped outside my typical role as an assistant superintendent, becoming more versatile and knowledgeable. On a personal level, their encouragement has inspired me to embrace new challenges and continue expanding my skills." ❓Why is it important to you to have a female mentor in this industry? "Having female mentors in construction is incredibly important. They understand the unique challenges women face and prove that success in this industry is achievable. Their guidance has built my confidence and shown me just how impactful a supportive community can be." #WICWeek #WiseWomenRiseTogether #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise

  • In honor of Women in Construction Week and our theme, Wise Women Rise Together, we asked three of our Wise Women to reflect on the mentors who have shaped their growth and success in the industry. Up next is Victoria Aldersley, shining a spotlight on her mentor, Stephanie Sutherby Pappas! Read below to learn how their mentorship has fostered continued support—even as they moved on to different projects. ⬇️ 👷♀️From: Victoria 👷♀️To: Stephanie ❓What projects have you collaborated on with Stephanie so far? "I primarily collaborated with Steph on the 51 Melcher TI Fit-out for Floors 1-4. Additionally, I supported her on the sister project, 51 Melcher Lab Repositioning." ❓What did she teach you, or what challenges did she help you navigate during these projects? "She taught me a great deal about expanding my skills as an effective and successful Project Manager. She mentored me in Owner/Owner Representative engagement and collaborating with the design team. As we worked on the 51 Melcher project, we faced numerous hurdles within a tight timeframe. Through these obstacles, she showed me how to adapt, think outside the box, and propose alternative solutions to achieve the result." ❓How has her guidance contributed to your professional and personal growth? "Steph and I no longer work exclusively together like we did on the 51 Melcher projects as I am supporting other teams on other projects and so is she. However, if I have a high-level question, Steph is an office away always willing to provide an answer if she can; that goes both ways, we are shoulders to lean on in times of support. Unknowingly to her, she has helped to bolster a confidence in me that I did not know I could possess." ❓Why is having a female mentor important to you in this industry? "Having a mentor like Steph gave me the opportunity and confidence to ask the 'dumb' questions. During my time at Wise, I’ve worked with many Project Managers, but I can confidently say that Steph ranks among the top. While the construction industry has traditionally been perceived as male-dominated, working with Steph and my counterparts with the Wise family has shown me an abundance of hardworking women making a place for themselves. It’s truly inspiring to witness every day." #WICWeek #WiseWomenRiseTogether #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise

  • In honor of Women in Construction Week and our theme, Wise Women Rise Together, we asked three of our Wise Women to reflect on the mentors who have shaped their growth and success in the industry. Kicking off this celebration, Suhani Jain is shining a spotlight on her mentor, Gabriela Santos! Read below to learn about their unique connection—one that has empowered Suhani and fostered a space where both continue to learn and evolve together. ⬇️ 👷♀️From: Suhani 👷♀️To: Gabi ❓ What projects have you worked on together? "We’ve worked together on several projects over the past two years, starting with a large Science & Technology project when I was an intern. Today, we’re working on major renovations at Boston Children’s Hospital and Atrius Health, including MRI, Medicine Clinic, and Vaccine Clinic projects. We've also tackled a couple jobs for clients like Harvard University and Repertoire Immune Medicines." ❓How has Gabi influenced you and helped you overcome challenges on your projects? "Gabi has shared a wealth of knowledge, from technical fundamentals to more advanced skills. Beyond the technical aspects such as learning about mechanical and plumbing systems, she’s also helped me develop crucial soft skills—like navigating challenging situations on a project. Her patience is invaluable; I feel comfortable asking her anything, whether it’s a complex issue or a simple question about curtain tracks or blocking. Our teamwork has been exceptional, and she trusts me to handle various tasks, knowing I can rely on her just as she relies on me." ❓How has she helped you grow professionally and personally? "As immigrants, English isn’t our first language, and we’ve shared plenty of laughs over mispronounced words while learning from our mistakes together. We understand the challenges of adapting to a new culture and, despite coming from different backgrounds, we’ve found a shared sense of belonging. That connection brings a sense of purpose and motivation every day." ❓Why is having a female mentor in this industry important to you? "As a woman in the construction industry, I find great encouragement in seeing other females excel in this field. If they can succeed, why can’t I? Being closely mentored by a successful woman leading projects and working tirelessly has been incredibly motivating. Seeing her accomplishments inspires and motivates me to keep pushing forward in my career. Being in a supportive environment where I feel understood and valued has made all the difference." #WICWeek #WiseWomenRiseTogether #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise

  • Wise Women Rise Together 🏗️ 👷♀️ For Women in Construction Week 2025, we’re celebrating the power of mentorship, shared learning, and strong connections that help women in our industry grow and thrive. Inspired by the National Association of Women in Construction’s theme, 'Together We Rise', we asked our Wise Women to reflect on the mentors and peers who have supported their journey. To kick off the week, we were thrilled to welcome Barbara Oddo, Director/Regional General Manager at Tishman Speyer, to our office for a conversation about her career in the industry. Over great food and custom pieces from Get Fused Permanent Jewelry, which are both female-owned businesses, our team came together to connect, share stories, and celebrate the impact of women lifting each other up. Stay tuned as we highlight more stories from our Wise Women, showcasing the incredible mentors and colleagues who have shaped their lives. #WICWeek #WiseWomenRiseTogether #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise

  • 🚧 Progress Update 🚧 Wise recently completed a 500 SF concrete pour on the second floor of our downtown Boston project—a key milestone in our construction schedule. This pour sets the stage for a new fuel tank, loading dock room, and future work in the area. Executing the pour in a busy urban setting came with its challenges. Traffic logistics were carefully managed with a coordinated Traffic Management Plan (TMP) to navigate the concrete trucks through the congested downtown streets to the site. At the same time, environmental controls were crucial. Maintaining the concrete’s temperature at 60°F required continuous monitoring, especially in the middle of a Boston winter. Safety remained a top priority as our team followed strict protocols, completed all checklists, and worked closely with inspectors who were on-site throughout the process. With more pours ahead, this completed milestone keeps the project on track for the next phases of structural and mechanical installations. Thank you to our trade partners: Marguerite Concrete, Inc Marr Scaffolding Company DeAngelis Iron Work, Inc. #ConcretePour #ProjectUpdate #BuildingBeyond #WeAreWise
