Our mission is to create a brave space that centers the experience of women, femme, and non-binary folks of color to come together to feel supported, validated, and empowered to take action in leading the change they want to see in the running industry. We create a space where women, femme, and non-binary folks of color leave feeling empowered to take action through career development, community-building programming, and mentorship and sponsorship opportunities. This retreat is Women and Femme of Color focused, but all are welcome.

    We’re thrilled to welcome Naomie Samarou for her debut at Take The Lead! She’ll lead the breakout session, “The Power of Influence: Creating Winning Partnerships,” sharing her expertise in building authentic collaborations, driving impactful engagement, and using storytelling to create lasting brand connections. Since joining On in early 2023 as a Global Influencer Marketing and Partnerships Senior Specialist, she has excelled in cultivating successful collaborations with top creators and talent worldwide. Born in Paris and raised in London, Naomie’s multicultural background has enriched her 6-year career.     Speaking on the Panel with Q&A "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Whitelash" is Sahra Kaboli-Nejad, PhD - D&I and Social Impact Leader at On. Sahra is a first generation Iranian-American and the Global Head of Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Impact at On. She earned her Master’s and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha where her research focused on how gender identity and race impact work experiences. At On, she serves as a leader to educate and empower teams to make inclusion core to the way they work together, the products they create, and the stories they tell. She also leads On's social impact program, Right To Run, dedicated to empowering and amplifying the work of community-based organizations who are combating barriers of safety, access, and inclusion in movement. Sahra will be joining other experts on a discussion focused on the evolving landscape of DEI work, exploring how organizations can advance diversity efforts in a complex and changing environment. Sahra will be speaking with Saman (Summon) Waquad - Diversity, Equity and Social Responsibility Specialist at New York Road Runners and Shannon Woods - Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Brooks.
