Great to see the incredible progress being made in Siler City on the 1800-acre Chatham-Siler City Advanced Manufacturing megasite. Ground was broken on Wolfspeed's 1 million sq foot facility in September of 2022 and thanks to The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, it is currently ahead of schedule and expected to open in the coming months. Once completed, the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide will be the largest and most advanced silicon carbide materials facility in the world, employing up to 1,800 people and producing semiconductor chips and devices that will power electric vehicle inverters and charging systems.
