This week, we teamed up with DEIF and AVL to host an exclusive event, Waves of Innovation, that brought together industry leaders pioneering the transformation of marine mobility towards a zero-carbon future powered by silicon carbide. During the panel discussion with Christian Nielsen of DEIF, Erwin Reisinger of AVL, and Paul Wheeler of Wolfspeed, moderated by Guy Moxey of Wolfspeed, we explored the strategic alliance and collaborative efforts that are solving significant challenges in the marine industry. Together, we've developed a power inverter system that sets new standards for efficiency, reliability, and environmental sustainability in marine technology. 🤝This strategic partnership leverages DEIF’s marine expertise, AVL’s engineering excellence, and Wolfspeed’s pioneering silicon carbide technology. 📉Silicon carbide power inverters boost efficiency by 2-3% and reduce volume by 60%, allowing for more compact and reliable systems in harsh marine environments. 🌍Silicon carbide's exceptional reliability and fuel-saving capabilities are crucial in meeting the increasing pressure to reduce emissions and comply with environmental regulations. We have the power to make it real, today. #MarineMobility #SiliconCarbide #Innovation

For decades, Silicon Valley in San Francisco, has been the epicenter of a technology revolution led by silicon-based semiconductors. But now, there is a new generation of semiconductors that are rising to prominence. As the world shifts away from fossil fuel power and traditional silicon-based technology, silicon carbide (SiC) is propelling us into a future of immense possibilities – a future where energy efficiency, sustainability, and technological advancements converge. Wolfspeed, the only company exclusively focused on silicon carbide, and currently the largest provider of SiC substrates in the world, was spun out of NC State research labs and remains based in North Carolina’s Research Triangle area, giving North Carolina early traction to become the “Silicon Carbide Triangle” and lead the emerging silicon carbide semiconductor industry.
