Let’s meet our August Associate Board Spotlight, Christiana Lawver, MBA, CHFP! WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT ROLE? I serve as Director Revenue Cycle Operations, Financial Clearance, Optum Insights supporting Allina Health. I've been with Allina Health for nine years in various roles. In May 2024, I was rebadged to Optum but I still support Allina Health in the same capacity as I did previously. In my current role, I am responsible for the centralized teams that perform Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, Prior Authorizations and a variety of other front-end Revenue Cycle functions. Our goal is to financially clear patients for upcoming scheduled services and share potential patient financial liability, to enhance patient experience and minimize surprise bills. WHY DID YOU JOIN THE TRUST AND WHAT IS YOUR ROLE? I joined the TRUST in 2021. I was referred to the TRUST by others who had found it to be a valuable resource from a networking and career development standpoint. I am a TRUST Associate Board member and I facilitate the New Member Coffees! WHAT IS THE BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED? The best career advice I've received was to get a mentor. I've had the privilege of participating in the TRUST Mentorship Program for two years now, and it has truly been an invaluable experience. The program's structure allows mentors and mentees a unique opportunity to network and build relationships with others within their cohort while also benefiting from the structured mentorship program. HOW DO YOU SUPPORT OTHER WOMEN IN THEIR LEADERSHIP JOURNEY? Specific to the TRUST, I have really enjoyed having the opportunity to welcome new members to the TRUST, share how to navigate the TRUST and help make connections.
