Tomorrow is #WorldMenopauseDay and WCPI is raising awareness about midlife women’s health and menopause. We are proud to have partnered with the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus on a congressional briefing on “Menopause and Midlife Women’s Health” on July 23, 2024. Our briefing gave Hill staff the opportunity to hear from our expert panelists on the need for bipartisan workplace menopause policies and on-the-ground recommendations for expanding public education and medical research on menopause and midlife women's health. Thank you to our generous sponsor Astellas Pharma. With an estimated 1.3 million women entering menopause each year in the U.S., it is crucial to explore federal strategies that support women’s health and well-being. This year’s Take Our Daughters to Congress Day was inspiring, and we are so appreciative of the women Members of Congress and senior congressional staff who shared their insightful experiences and responded to the girls’ questions about pursuing a career in public service. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and WCPI is proud to honor the 30th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), a groundbreaking bipartisan law that has transformed the fight against domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse. Did you know that 1 in 4 women experience severe intimate partner violence in their lifetime? Domestic violence transcends age, race, gender, and socioeconomic status, affecting countless individuals. Many suffer in silence but recognizing the warning signs can help save lives. Together, we can build a safer, more resilient future. 💜 #DomesticViolenceAwareness
